La Baita In Ispra

A place in perfect German style. Very kind and professional staff. Typical Teutonic dishes, well prepared and very tasty. Limited selection of drinks. Prices a little above average. Overall, I can say I spent a pleasant evening in this little corner of Germany.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the area. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful, explaining the menu and specials. The food has always been exceptional and especially suited to the winter season, when you just need a good-old hearty comforting dish, full of flavour. The pretzels are tasty and fresh too. My personal favourite dish is probably the Tiroler Gröstl, which is potatoes, pork, speck and egg in lovely juices, although I haven’t tried the entire German yet…I’ll be back!

We were on a bike tour around Lake Maggiore and stopped in spontaneously. The food and service were first-class. Highly recommended.

Great beer, but the food was a letdown I'm only not giving it 1 or 2 stars because I really see and appreciate the hard work of this nice German family. But as someone who is half German, I have to honestly say: The food is just not for me. The knuckle of pork was tasteless, and unfortunately, so were the dumplings. Simply bland. Even the sausages didn't taste anything special. And the Black Forest gateau? My German grandma probably died of a broken heart a second time because of it. But I have to say: The beer is really good, and the pretzel was perfect! Fresh, salty, simply delicious. So my conclusion: I would come back just for the beer and pretzel, but nothing more.

We went as a family after the Love Walk along the lakeside and the viewpoint with the road to the furnaces. An exceptional place to eat, the owners are a delight, and the food is delicious! Well done.

Well, of course, you have to ask yourself why you'd go to a "German" restaurant during a vacation in Italy. Quite simply, because all the Italian restaurants were still closed and we were hungry.

It left us a bit perplexed. We came for dinner. The waitress was fantastic! It felt like we were in Germany. Thank you!!! We wanted to sit outside, but there was no way... they wouldn't let us, but the weather was fine. A little too strict... we're in Italy, and a little more flexibility doesn't hurt around here. The setting itself is great! Thank you so much!!!

A very cozy and pleasant beer garden, with a great atmosphere and very friendly and personable service. The food quality is hard to beat; there's something for every taste. Highly recommended!
