Excellent place to spend a family lunch, abundant and high quality cold cuts platter, top culatello! From the owner to the waiters, excellent service. The outdoor environment suitable for children with animals and the spectacular culatello museum, a heritage of the lower Parma area.

You can taste how happy the animals are here. The white beef ragu was perfect especially with the tagliatelle that were a bit thicker than I’m used to. And pork medallions were so simple…wine and rosemary (and lemon?) and the taste of the meat itself was the star. Clearly exceptional quality food. Of course the culatello was amazing. We were there on a very quiet lunch and our service was perfect. One of if not the best meal of our week long Italy trip.

Abbiamo pranzato prima della visita al Museo del culatello e siamo rimasti abbastanza delusi. Due commensali hanno preso il tagliere misto. Salumi buoni ma nulla di particolare... Io ho preso una tagliata con patate: carne buona ma veramente minima porzione, ulteriore contorno di patate arrosto (erano appena tiepide) Altro commensale agnolini (soddisfatta). Pane non all'altezza Calice di rosso molto buono. Nel complesso non mi sento di consigliare, tornassi andrei altrove.

After seeing Italia Squisita's videos on the ancient Pallavicina court, we couldn't resist going to the Hostaria del pig and we were not disappointed! The place is very welcoming and furnished in a rustic but refined way, with the shop visible at the entrance. We were welcomed in a very friendly manner and served in record time. We ordered the culatello appetizer for two people (€18 per person) and we received a platter almost 1 meter long, really abundant but delicious, accompanied by the giardiniera. We obviously also had Aunt Emilia's famous lasagna (€12), delicious. Finally we tasted the trifle: the creams were made to perfection but as it wasn't assembled in layers, you didn't have both creams in one bite which is a bit of a shame. Our experience was very positive, the bill was a little expensive but it is understandable given the quality of the ingredients and the location.

Si tratta della parte "meno nobile" del più famoso ristorante stellato ma la qualità è comunque molto positiva, sia per quanto riguarda il servizio che i sapori. Sono ancora molto visibili le tracce di quella che una volta doveva essere la stalla della corte. Esperienza tutto sommato positiva!

Lunch for couple + 5 month old baby. Super kind during the booking process out of consideration, very quiet during lunch (unfortunately we were late due to the child). We had a really great time. We absolutely recommend a culatello platter and cut!! Good tagliatelle with an excellent ragù (don't think of the Bolognese one). Bottle of Merlot excellent for quality/price ratio. Small confusion on the bill, immediately sorted out by the staff at the checkout.

Very characteristic environment and very good and top quality main courses. I didn't try the first courses. Worth visiting is the adjoining sales point.

I was in this Hosteria for the first time on the occasion of the November Pork (even if that Saturday the festival took place in the adjacent town), located outside the town centre, it offers convenient parking and also the possibility of possibly taking "digestive" walks... . We ate à la carte and not all the dishes lived up to expectations despite the good quality of the raw materials... The typical environment of a place where the maturation of culatello takes place is beautiful, clean and tidy.... The service seemed a little confusing to me, although we had understood the commitment and kindness of all the staff, it seemed to be made up of hotel students with their first experience in managing the service. Overall, we paid a little too much for the quantity (and quality) of the food (we are in the lower Parma area, not in Milan...) and based on this one experience I wouldn't go back.

29/01/2025: Bar on Via Mantova, small but very welcoming place. There is a large car park reserved for customers. stop for breakfast but catching a glimpse of the kitchen... why not, you have to try it for lunch!
