Kotuki In Monterotondo

Excellent experience, beautiful location, convenient parking, friendly service, very good food, slightly high prices for the type of food, but justified by the level of attention to detail. The only downside is a bit of a delay and confusion with orders after a certain hour (but they have plenty of table space), which was quickly resolved when highlighted. I'll definitely be back, thanks. Oh, I forgot, you can enjoy a beautiful sunset view. (For two, ask for table 121, or the other two nearby ones with a sunset/lake view.)

This evening we arrive at this beautiful location. Kotuki is not just any Chinese Japanese restaurant. There are six of us, and we have an 8-month-old baby in a stroller with us. The terrace is packed, but the atmosphere is pleasant as always. We really appreciate this restaurant because the service is always excellent and attentive, making us feel pampered. This evening in particular, we have some people with us who aren't used to the all-you-can-eat menu, so we ask for a second tablet at the table to order. Valentina, very kind, immediately takes care of us and makes us happy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ☺️♥️

We came here for an aperitivo and initially planned to stay for dinner, but we ultimately changed our minds. There's nothing to complain about the food: the preparation is meticulous, and the quality of the ingredients, as well as the flavor, are truly excellent. The drinks are also well-made, although the final choice was a bit forced. What disappointed us was the service, which seemed cold and distant. I understand the place has reached a certain level, but this shouldn't translate into making customers feel like they're simply "the ones bringing in the money." A warmer and more attentive welcome would encourage people to return, regardless of whether a single customer makes a difference or not. The incident that made us skip dinner concerned the aperitivo. The €14.90 deal is absolutely in line with the market. We ordered a gin and tonic and were asked which gin we preferred. Having seen Hendrick's on the menu, we chose it. Shortly afterward, however, the staff returned, telling us that the gin wasn't included in the package and that they could only make the drink with a "house" gin. Given that a gin and tonic uses about 5 cl of gin, and that the aperitif menus generally use a smaller amount (3.5-4 cl), I wonder if it's really worth leaving a dissatisfied customer with such a choice, especially when they'd already indicated their intention to stay for dinner. In the end, we settled for a spritz, which fortunately was well-prepared. It's a shame, because the potential is there. But, at least for us, the service and the handling of this situation made the difference. We won't be returning.

It's always nice to come to Kotuki. The view is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is meticulously curated, evoking many mainstream Japanese elements, like the torii arch, the bridge, and the carp. There are many rooms, so even if it's crowded, you can always find a seat. The staff is courteous and helpful, the service is fast, you can order via tablet, and sometimes a friendly robot even comes to deliver your orders. There's a little less choice than other restaurants, but of the things I order, almost everything is really good. The cocktails are pretty good, too. Highly recommended, especially at sunset! 🔝

My favorite sushi restaurant! They serve all-you-can-eat dishes, just like à la carte, and the cocktails are amazing!
