We went there 3 times in a week's vacation. We had a GREAT time. The owner was a kind person and an excellent chef. The service was excellent. The food was top-notch.

We went to Kilometro Zero last night with my wife and sister-in-law (who has a house in Lugnano in Teverina) after reading the restaurant's excellent reviews and recommendations from a couple of locals we met at the nearby Ramici spa. I must say our expectations were fully confirmed by the quality of the food and the owners' friendliness. We had the truly superb fried rabbit, worthy of a world championship dish, then the pan-fried rabbit and the chicken cacciatore, both truly delicious, accompanied by the house wine (we had both the red and the white) from the Corbara estate. The red, although not bottled, was a good Sangiovese reminiscent of Ciliegiolo. The side dish of sweet and sour onions, also exceptional, accompanied our dishes. What can I say: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

When traveling with our dog, we don't always find places where he's welcome! We ate wonderfully! Everything was delicious! The staff were very kind and welcoming!

Trattoria nel centro storico di Montecchio, di sicuro un posto dove andare a mangiare dei prodotti tipici davvero buonissimi e di qualità! Complimenti a tutti soprattutto ad Alessandro per la sua simpatia e gentilezza.. Abbiamo mangiato 2 sere e ci siamo trovati davvero benissimo... Io mangiato una pasta ai carciofi eccezionale🤩!

27/07/2025: We are the bikers you've been so helpful to today. It was the least we could do, because beyond good food, there's kindness and generosity, qualities that are increasingly rare. The good things we do always come back to us. Until the next time we visit the waterfalls.
26/07/2025: Truly Italian experience, food is delish. Not a classy or fancy restaurant. But very yummy. I do recommend pasta and ravioli.

07/08/2025: We had a really good time, a family of four. Every course was a delight, both visually and in taste. The table service was pleasant and friendly. We recommend it.
03/08/2025: My husband, my daughter, and I went for dinner this evening. The place is very nice and welcoming. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow, but the main problem was when I ordered panzanella (a typical Umbrian dish that I know very well, since my husband is originally from Orvieto) and was brought a small bowl of cherry tomatoes with a few breadcrumbs and two basil leaves. When it came time to pay, I mentioned this to the lady, and that I would therefore have liked to pay for a cherry tomato salad and not for the dish I had ordered. But to no avail, as upon leaving the restaurant, I looked at the bill and saw, to my dismay, that guest satisfaction isn't the restaurant's priority. I certainly wouldn't go to waste for two or three euros, but a small discount would have been appreciated. It's a shame because my husband and daughter said the first courses weren't bad, but when I return to Orvieto, I definitely won't choose Il Capitano del Popolo again.
