Great place. I'd already been to the place they have near the Duomo and wanted to try the one in Sarpi too. Authentic flavors and friendly staff, I'll be back 😽🫂

Dined here today while exploring Chinatown for lunch.
I tried -
1. Involtini di Primavera
Very soft yet crispy—just a gentle touch and you can hear them break. They were large and tightly stuffed with shredded carrots and cabbage. Texture-wise and price-wise, definitely good.
However, the flavor was a bit bland compared to other Chinese places I’ve tried. Maybe dipping them in soy sauce first would have helped—I’ll probably try that next time.
The sauce served alongside was quite sour, with vinegar dominating. I expected a sweet-chilli sauce, but I think this is their standard pairing, so I didn’t ask.
2. Zuppa di Miso
A surprisingly generous portion—more than double what I expected—with plenty of tofu. Combined with spinach, it tasted wonderful.
After the relatively bland spring rolls, this soup really had my heart. It had a comforting flavor. What I loved most was the warm, slightly spicy sensation in the throat—not from the temperature, but likely from pepper or similar spices which are hot by nature. That warmth made it incredibly satisfying. Truly amazing.
3. Spaghetti di Patate Cinesi Saltate
Again, a bigg portion—this dish alone could almost fill you up. With shredded carrots, thin potato slices, mushrooms, spring onions, and more, it was very fulfilling.
The flavors were gentler than what I'm used to, but adding some (or maybe a little more than “some” 😉) soy sauce fixed that instantly.
The bonus was that by the time I finished my starters, these noodles had cooled to a warm temperature—which I prefer over piping hot. It actually made them easier to handle, since these smooth noodles tend to be slippery on the fork 😂.

Seating spots are limited so it's better to get it booked before hand as two people who had finished lunch were asked to consider vacating as we entered.
A decent spot for lunch with generous portions and friendly service.
Thank you!

It's impossible to find a seat in Chinatown on a Saturday, but luckily there was a table outside. The food was delicious, with generous portions and very kind waiters. It's a shame there was a small oversight...
We ordered grilled bao and a plate of Chinese noodles, but only the latter arrived. After waiting for the bao, and eating the noodles that were a bit cold from the wait, we asked for directions. They apologized for forgetting and brought them over.
Meanwhile, we also took the opportunity to try the fresh noodles, which were truly filling and delicious! ❤️

The wait was a bit long, but the quality was excellent. The space is on two floors, but a bit cramped. The quality/price ratio was excellent, and the staff were quite helpful and friendly.

Typical Chinese cuisine in the Paolo Sarpi area.
The staff is kind, attentive and helpful with a really fast service.
Very large menu with dishes that please all palates. Abundant portions with really reasonable prices.
I wanted to try the classic spring roll which was quite large, very crunchy on the outside and with a really tasty and juicy vegetable filling.
Special grilled ravioli, strictly handmade, are something explosive. A mix of flavors enclosed in this delicious casing hidden by a very crunchy veil (I recommend them).
Wenzhounese rice noodles absolutely to try.
Very tender and tasty spicy beef (acceptable spicy but take me with a pinch of salt because I am perhaps used to higher degrees of spiciness)
Last but not least the Mapo tofu (spicy and here you can feel it a little more), a simple but good dish and enriched with minced meat, Chinese black mushrooms (Mu Ehr) and a mix of spices.
Tofu is known to be a pillar of Chinese cuisine and very often it is not appreciated here in Italy but I recommend you try it and give it a chance.
With all these lines I just want to tell you to go to Sarpi or Duomo to try this fantastic cuisine and let yourself be transported to China through your taste buds. You will not regret it.
See you soon!

We've been regulars at Jinyong Paolo Sarpi for 10 years, but on October 26, I found myself in a bizarre situation: there were three of us, I went to the bathroom, and found my seat occupied by other customers. My friends didn't understand anything and couldn't do anything because other customers were already waiting to be seated. I confronted the Chinese waitress, and she simply said there were too many customers and she couldn't do anything. In the end, we were forced to leave. It's a shame the staff isn't there anymore.

Very fast service and friendly, helpful staff. The food is good but very tasty/greasy, perhaps even a bit too much at times; the menu is à la carte.
