How nice that these places still exist, that it's not all glossy and fake built. Zero frills, with a lady who prepares everything on the spot in a poorly maintained place. You have to wait a while but it's a good sign, everything freshly done. Extraordinary flavours, bottled beer, African friends who stop by to say hello and you're immediately in Asmara.

Quaint, delicious and the quality of the food is good. I will definitely be back. Not the best quality photo but I assure you that the food was amazing. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent tiny no frills type of place. The food is exceptional and fresh cooked and served by the chef. It has a very homely feel. Would highly recommend. Great prices as well (almost unseen in Milan) and a hearty meal includes a bottle of water.

Isola Verde is like stepping into your Eritrean/Ethiopian friend’s family home while their mum cooks for you. A true hole-in-the-wall and gem of a place their food is excellent and really cheap. I got their Zighini di Agnello and the beef was perfectly salted; with a .7l bottle of beer I paid €15. In a city filled with world-class fine dining this is the place that Anthony Bourdain would be going to and raving about. No frills just good authentic food.

Light years away - in a positive sense - from the Eritrean restaurants I was used to in Milan: this is a trattoria with genuine, home-made and very tasty cuisine. The owner is very kind and the dishes are freshly prepared (you can hear her cooking in the kitchen). Often when I eat spicy and/or spicy food I am left weighed down and disorganized for hours (due to my lack of habit) but after being at the green island I returned home full and happy. Place of the heart: I can't wait to return to eat new delicacies. Thank you!!!

Mi sono trovato benissimo, ci sono stato con alcuni amici.
Il locale è accogliente e pulito!
Personale gentile e disponibile con prezzi giusti!
Cibo veramente buono.
I prodotti sono tipici dell’Ethiopia ad esempio il LINGERA (pane di miglio utilizzato per accompagnare la maggior parte delle pietanze) soprannominato TAEF.
Dopo circa 30 minuti sembra di non avere mangiato nulla e per cui i piatti rimangono leggeri ma allo stesso tempo nutrienti e molto gustosi.
Questo locale è ottimo sia per chi vuole degustare piatti di tipo vegetariano/vegano secondo la tradizione ethiopica (le verdure sono deliziose) e sia per gli amanti della carne
Consiglio lo Zighini al pomodoro o bianco.
Io ho preso lo Zighini di Manzo al pomodoro leggermente piccante con contorno di verdure e la carne si scioglieva in bocca.
Vivamente consigliato!

The lady who is the owner cooks really well, I have become addicted to it, in fact I highly recommend it

This is one of my favourite restaurant in Milan and I’ve been for a couple of days. The food is very good and tested. Can’t wait to go back for dinner even much better than others a big restaurant. Definitely going back soon!
