Il Vizio In Gandino

Apparently when you enter they don't say hello, a top coffee, then the service proved to be kind

We arrived outside of lunch time, but we were very well looked after. Delicious food, air-conditioned environment and efficient service! Delicious coffee. Great recommendation

We ended up in Gandino on the day of the market, for a quick breakfast before walking towards Monte Farno, and having never been to the town we simply told ourselves to go to the center and look around. Right in the space next to the magnificent Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta (enter it, it's majestic), we come across Il Vizio, with large windows through which we glimpse colors and products, a nice counter, busy yet calm staff, smiling people at the tables. We were with our 20kg dog, so I went in first alone to ask if there were any problems (also because at the table next to the entrance I had seen a couple of people with a dog) and, with a Fantozzi-like air, I gestured and asked if we could enter with the dog, perhaps putting us at the back, so as not to break the balance and peace of the place, the manager (a young guy behind the counter with a lot of professionalism) smiles and without even letting me finish speaking he simply tells me "Where you want, stand where you want" and with a broad gesture he encloses the whole place. Dog owners know that it's not a given to find such kindness and helpfulness, and when it happens it's always a celebration. We get a cappuccino, a couple of coffees, a juice and assorted croissants, and it was all extremely good. My brioche, wholemeal with berries, was absolutely fragrant, with the right amount of jam: a true delicacy. We look around and see that they also make bread, displayed in baskets, and then we understand the reason for so much goodness. Part bakery, part bar, part aperitif corner and many smiles and a lot of kindness, whether you are one of Gandino, or a perfect stranger: Il Vizio, with its elegant, minimal furnishings, with calm features, but even with the right colors, everything in an impeccable pendant, it makes you forget that you are in a small village in the Val Seriana, that is, the impeccable style is detached from the place, you feel like you are in any beautiful place in the world, because it has a truly remarkable touch . But then you take a look from the shop windows and see the little square, feel the Bergamasco, see the stones of the place, and breathe in the identity of Gandino. It's a "well done" place, a cared for and loved place, that's clear: and today it's not easy to find passion and dedication in "keeping" a place. You have confirmation from the words on the blackboard at the entrance: simple, clear, sincere, just like the Bergamo character. This is a real place, a place to return to, to mark in your diary. Take Il Vizio from us, and with gusto.

Siamo capitati nel giorno del Mercato a Gandino, per una colazione veloce prima di camminare verso il Monte Farno, e non essendo mai stati in paese ci siamo detti semplicemente di raggiungere il centro e guardarsi intorno. Proprio nello spiazzo accanto alla magnifica Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta (entrateci, è maestosa), ci imbattiamo ne Il Vizio, con grandi vetrate da cui intravediamo colori e prodotti, un bel bancone, staff indaffarato eppure pacato, gente ai tavoli sorridente. Eravamo con il nostro cagnone di 20Kg, quindi entro prima io da sola per chiedere se ci fossero problemi (anche perché al tavolino accanto all'entrata avevo visto un paio di persone con un cagnolino) e, mentre con aria Fantozziana, gesticolando chiedo se possiamo entrare con il cane, magari mettendoci in fondo, in fondo, così da non rompere l'equilibrio e la pace del locale, il gestore (un ragazzo giovane dietro al bancone con molto mestiere) sorride e senza nemmeno farmi finire di parlare mi dice semplicemente "Dove volete, mettetevi dove volete" e con un ampio gesto racchiude tutto il locale. I proprietari di cani sanno che non è scontato trovare tanta gentilezza e disponibilità, e quando succede è sempre festa. Prendiamo un cappuccino, un paio di caffè, un succo e brioches assortite, ed era tutto estremamente buono. La mia brioche, integrale con frutti di bosco, era di una fragranza assoluta, con la giusta dose di marmellata: una vera prelibatezza. Ci guardiamo intorno e vediamo che fanno anche il pane, esposto nelle ceste, e allora capiamo il motivo di tanta bontà. Un po' panetteria, un po' bar, un po' angolo aperitivi e molti sorrisi e tanta gentilezza, che tu sia uno di Gandino, o un perfetto sconosciuto: Il Vizio, con il suo arredamento elegante, minimale, dai tratti pacati, ma anche con colori azzeccati, tutto in un pendant impeccabile, ti fa scordare di essere in un paesino della Val Seriana, cioè lo stile ineccepibile si slega dal luogo, ti pare di stare in un qualsiasi posto bello del mondo, perché ha un tocco davvero notevole. Ma poi butti uno sguardo dalle vetrine e vedi la piazzetta, senti il Bergamasco, vedi le pietre del luogo, e respiri l'identità di Gandino. E' un luogo "fatto bene", un luogo curato e amato, si capisce eccome: e oggi non è facile trovare passione e dedizione nel "tenere" un locale. Hai la conferma dalle parole della lavagna all'entrata: semplici, chiare, sincere, proprio come il carattere bergamasco. Questo è un posto vero, un posto in cui tornare, da segnarsi in agenda. Prendeteci Il Vizio, e con gusto.
