From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcome — the staff and surrounding atmosphere were warm and friendly.
As a connoisseur of seafood, I approached this restaurant with high expectations. Unfortunately, the culinary experience did not meet them. Overall, the dishes lacked depth of flavor. Despite the many possibilities to enhance the natural taste of shellfish, the preparation fell short.
The pasta was noticeably undercooked, resulting in an unpleasant texture. Conversely, the seafood accompanying the pasta was overcooked and dehydrated, disintegrating on the plate and leaving behind only the shells.
The final dish, a fritura, was also disappointing. The calamari was soggy, the shrimp appeared insufficiently cleaned, and the fish was plain and lacked seasoning.
In conclusion, the overall quality of the food was considerably below expectations, particularly given the price point. The restaurant would greatly benefit from greater attention to preparation, texture, and flavor balance to align the experience with its cost and presentation.

It was our go-to spot during our days in Porto Santo Stefano. The food is excellent, with special attention to gluten-free options. The fish is always fresh, the atmosphere is elegant, and the staff is very knowledgeable.
The hostess was extremely kind and gave us excellent advice on excursions in the area—always spot on!
Highly recommended!

Be careful with the photos, because this restaurant isn't on the beach! It is, however, one of the better ones in the harbor and not a tourist trap. The prices are reasonable, the tasting menu is delicious, I had a lovely capone, and the grilled calamari was also very good. Linen napkins are always a good sign.
The waitress could be a bit more cheerful.

Excellent restaurant, very kind staff. They found us a table at 9:50 PM despite it being close to the kitchen closing time. The dishes were well-presented and of great quality.
We had an amazing warm seafood salad (finally a restaurant where they don't serve it cold), and an excellent sea bass (about 1 kg) with potatoes and cherry tomatoes. The price was very fair for what we ate.

We were looking for a restaurant in Santo Stefano where we could eat good seafood, and they recommended Il Veliero.
It has a beautiful, well-furnished summer veranda facing the ferry dock, and the interior is simple and beautifully set.
We chose the guided tasting menu, a very good choice.
The cold and hot seafood appetizers were excellent.
A good selection of first and second courses, with very good reinterpretations.
A decent wine list and impeccable service.
We had a great time, I would recommend it.

Excellent experience! I already knew the owners from when the location was in Giannella: my memory was positive, but in the new location they have outdone themselves!!! Excellent and innovative menu, pleasant atmosphere, and very attentive service. They also handled my son's severe shellfish allergy with extreme skill, offering a very tasty fish menu. We went there for dinner during our vacation and had a wonderful time! The restaurant is slightly hidden but still overlooks the harbor. The interior is elegant, refined, and modern, yet never forgetting the maritime atmosphere that surrounds it. The menu features seafood specialties, of course, and we chose a delicious mixed fried fish platter and a mixed grill. The fried fish was a generous portion, dry, rich, and not at all greasy, and the fish was incredibly fresh. As soon as I saw my grilled fish, I was immediately amazed by the variety, and the lady who served it me expertly deboned the sea bass and finished the presentation with a generous drizzle of Argentario lemon-infused olive oil, which was astonishing and complemented the fish perfectly, with the perfect acidity. The rest of the food was excellent, especially the prawns! The baked potatoes were also delicious, crispy and fragrant. We finished with a good coffee and a delicious lemon sorbet. The quality/price ratio is absolutely in line with the excellent products served and the location, and the service was very fast, kind, and very friendly. I highly recommend booking both for parking and because of the large crowds in the area, especially on weekends. This is definitely a restaurant worth trying during your stay in Argentario!
