Il Tritone In Verona

This is a legendary restaurant. I visited alone for lunch in early October. It's a bit far from the tourist areas and quite pricey, but if you have the time, it's a seafood restaurant worth visiting. The staff were also very friendly. To cut to the chase, it was absolutely delicious. Even the bread served before the meal was impressive. It's not easy to find good bread in Italy, but this place is different. They said both the bread and butter are handmade. My order was Crudo di ombrina, mandorle, menta e tourlo d'uovo marinato and Gnocchi di patate e basilico con scampi e bottarga fatta in casa. The Ombrina fish carpaccio had a wonderfully fatty flavor. The diced fish underneath created a fun contrast in texture, while the mint, refreshing lemon juice, olive oil, and nutty almond powder perfectly balanced the flavors. The yellow powder on top is pickled egg yolk, and its umami is incredibly intense, enhancing the overall flavor of the dish. The scampi, potato, and basil gnocchi was the best I've ever had, even though I'm not usually a fan of gnocchi. The texture was soft and chewy, and the scampi was perfectly cooked and richly flavored. The homemade bottarga was especially impressive, perfectly balancing the umami and seasoning.

I went there for a business lunch. The food was very good and high-quality. The flavored butter for the homemade bread was a real treat.

We returned to this place for the second time and were once again impressed by the quality of the dishes and the kindness of the owners. This time we wanted to try the tasting menu, and in my opinion it was an excellent choice. Intimate setting and delicious food. What more can I say... except see you soon 🤩

Unique fish dishes with fun names (we were surprised by the entrée: homemade walnut butter, served with homemade bread). We loved everything: the refined flavors, the plating, the wine, the recommendations, and the service... And the presence of flower petals and aromatic leaves that perfumed our palate. The staff was friendly and helpful, both in recommending dishes and understanding our needs. It's a small and welcoming place, stylishly furnished, with a large window overlooking the main street. It's suitable for intimate dinners or small groups.
