We decided to try this restaurant serving typical Maremma cuisine, and the experience was truly positive from every perspective. The atmosphere is welcoming, with a rustic and authentic feel that perfectly reflects the local tradition. The staff was kind, helpful, and attentive, without ever being intrusive.
Regarding the food, you immediately taste the quality of the ingredients and the respect for local recipes. We started with a truly tasty crostini, followed by a portion of well-cooked liver, tender and full of flavor, just as Maremma tradition dictates. Then we ordered a mixed grill for two: excellent meat, juicy and well-seasoned, with bold yet balanced flavors.
The side dishes were simple but well-made, perfect for accompanying the meat without overpowering its flavor. The desserts (tiramisu and torta della nonna) also deserve a mention: authentic, not too heavy, and ideal for ending the meal. All accompanied by a half liter of red wine and two bottles of water.
We finished with two coffees and a barrel-aged grappa.
The total bill was €94 for four people—two adults and two children. Perhaps a bit too much at over €20 per person.... A place I definitely recommend to anyone who wants to savor authentic Maremma cuisine.

I've been coming to Tordaio for years, I remember it all the way back to 1990. And what's more, I've been coming here since Orbetello. Two dishes remain etched in my memory: the anchovies from Sor Benelli, the founder, and the courtesy combined with the love of the daily work of owners Daniela and Danilo, supported by an impeccable staff. But today I tasted the true heart of the fried artichoke. It's a refinement to lean on the table of this place where they make me feel an integral part of it all. Always amazed by a dance of untamed flavors.

The food is very good, we always find different menus made well the old fashioned way, with fresh homemade pasta and fish in the summer, I am very happy to go back there every time ❤️
