Il Santo Bevitore is indeed trendy but we were lucky to get a reservation for dinner. The location is nice and reminds me of New York, but it cannot be described as rustic or homely. The menu is slim and a bit complicated, we didn’t had the ”ohh I want to eat that”-feeling but rather based our selection of the evening on exclusion of dishes we didn’t like (e.g octopus, pork rib tarrine, lard). Maybe we had a unfortunate timing of the menu in relation to our preferences, but this was not my top 5 in Firenze for this trip.

Fantastic ambiance, tasty food — although perhaps I didn’t order quite right, because I can’t say it totally blew me away the way I was expecting it to given the reviews — and a great location. The service was probably my only real callout, specifically the fact that they don’t offer you a taste of a bottled wine before you’ve committed to it, which was a first for me. Most restaurants in Italy, at least in my experience, have been only too happy to let you taste what you’re about to order and uncork before you’ve done so, so when our server informed me that they don’t do that I was kind of stunned. Needless to say I didn’t feel compelled to order the €60 bottle of wine I had been interested in after all and stuck with a Negroni instead.
Not a bad meal by any stretch, and the ravioli di cinghale in brodo was absolutely delicious, but it didn’t end up living up to the hype for me.
On the other hand, Il Santino next door for an after dinner drink on the street — which was bustling when we left dinner that night — was a total vibe.

Worth heading across the river to discover this trendy trattoria in Oltrano district of Florence.
Large restaurant with several different areas all full to bursting and walls ‘decorated’ with shelves of wine - and a unique way of getting the bottles down.
The food is new, clever and delicious twists on classic Florentine food. I had the most melt in your mouth bacala (salt cod) followed by equally delicious and tender beef carpaccio. Others at the table had snails as a promo followed by delicious octopus .
The restaurant was on the dark and noisy side but very atmospheric and packed to heaving on a Sunday night. Seek this place out you won’t regret it.

Best restaurant I’ve been to in Florence. Menu and drinks are both incredible, make a negroni using their own ingredients and it’s perfect. Amazing food service and atmosphere, and have a bar and separate wine bar next door if you only want a few bites and drinks instead of a full meal. Fine dining without the stuffy feeling

We had so many fantastic meals in Florence, but dinner at Il Santo Bevitore may have been our favorite. The atmosphere is cozy but elevated. Feels like you’re in your favorite neighborhood spot for a special occasion, even if the occasion is just dinner. Food is delicious and well prepared with perfectly balanced flavors. Kind, attentive staff and great service. We had a reservation, so we only waited a few minutes to be seated. Will absolutely be returning on future visits to Florence.

Wonderful restaurant.
Completely different from what you usually find.
Sophisticated dishes with a modern touch and very good quality products.
Their burrata with spinach is excellent; as a tip, I would suggest that the spinach be served freshly sautéed hot with the burrata on top.
Their chicken pâté is incredible.
Their pasta is sophisticated, but they also have very tasty and elaborate dishes like their squid ink pasta with fennel, very delicious, and their carpaccio, very good. As a recommendation, I would flatten it more so that it becomes even finer on a larger plate; there's no need for more raw material.
Their desserts are very good and elaborately prepared.
We went twice in 4 days of stay in Florence.
That says a lot...
I will return!!

They have a wide selection of wines and the recommendations are perfect.
They're friendly and delicious.
