A magical haven: the sea in the heart of Sant’Egidio "Il Postiglione" Montecassiano. (Mc)
In a rapidly changing and ever-faster world, it warms the heart to discover that the scent of the sea can reach the hills of Sant’Egidio di Montecassiano, intact and sincere. There are still places capable of stopping time, and this restaurant is proof of that.
At the helm of this kitchen is Chef Roberta Chiacchera, whose hands seem to know the deepest secrets of the sea. Hers is a rare skill, made of precise gestures and a touching humility: she doesn't use technology to distort, but to protect the soul of fresh fish. Each of her dishes is a tale of beauty and simplicity, where love is felt in every bite because it is the ingredient she adds first, even before salt.
Next to her, the light and beauty of Martina fills the room. He is the personification of dedication: a discreet yet essential presence, capable of moving with a grace that transforms work into art. His skill lies in his ability to understand every desire, with the simplicity typical of those who deeply love what they do.
In the dining room, Andrea's experience is the finishing touch to this magic. With him, hospitality isn't just a profession, but a hug. His professionalism is interwoven with an old-fashioned kindness; *Andrea doesn't simply wait tables, but takes guests on a journey, explaining fish with the respect due to a precious treasure.
Together, they form a wonderful team that deserves every compliment. Between elegantly furnished rooms and an atmosphere that exudes home and excellence, the experience is simply magical. A heartfelt thank you to these guardians of taste who, with their simplicity, remind us how beautiful life can be over a heartfelt dish of fresh Adriatic fish. There are places capable of stopping time, where the table becomes that intangible cultural heritage that UNESCO recognizes as the profound soul of our Italy: an inextricable intertwining of biodiversity, social ritual, and know-how.

We went on December 5th for a dinner with old school friends: in addition to the sublime food, the courtesy, attentiveness, and patience of the waiter Giona made the evening memorable. The price was reasonable. Definitely worth repeating.

The food and service stars are based on the type of trattoria, which is an old-fashioned trattoria (the reason for the 3-star rating is the ambiance) with homemade cuisine, exclusively seafood. They also offer set menus for €35 or €50, which include drinks. We opted for the à la carte menu because we didn't want to eat as much as the set menus require. A special mention goes to the homemade tagliatelle. The young and friendly waiters and waitresses are all very young.
