At this restaurant, located on the outskirts of Altamura, I enjoyed a culinary experience that highlights tradition and local ingredients. The menu draws inspiration from locally sourced and seasonal produce, offering dishes from the Murgia region prepared simply yet effectively. The appetizer served as an excellent overview of local flavors, with a selection ranging from classics like fried olives, eggplant parmigiana, and peppers, to more unusual combinations like friggitelli peppers with fava bean purée and farm cheese with apricot jam. Altamura bread meatballs and Venere rice with vegetables provided a touch of originality.
The first course, homemade spaghetti, successfully combined the delicacy of wild fennel with the savory flavor of anchovies, all enhanced by a pleasant crunch of toasted almonds. The highlight of the evening, a Murgia lamb shank, was served with baked potatoes and raw barattieri, a combination that highlighted the quality of the meat.
The dessert, finally, maintained its high standard: the ricotta and pear tart won over with its lightness, while the San Marzano cremolata with affogato provided an unusual and memorable finale.

For a fleeting holiday lunch I took 100 minutes, long waiting times, rather high cost, service to be refined, à la carte menu service unclear, I started with a starter in installments little by little, out of 4 people we had two first courses, four second courses according to the owner, to me they seemed like two second courses, grilled sausage 5 pieces and a cut of beef which due to its size was good for two, a bottle of wine chosen by the house without knowing the various costs that are generally found on menu, the requested cut was well cooked and served bloody, even the sausage was almost cannibalistic, this was the straw that broke the camel's back, I asked for the bill, paid and left clearly dissatisfied. Report on the culinary experience €147 for a few starters, two first courses, a cut, five weights of sausage, a bottle of wine, two bottles of water, you can't say that the name is exactly right "Il Postaccio" N.B. Good food and a normal place, but and it's a big but, there's no menu on display and it's not even possible to know the prices when ordering.
Obviously in these conditions the scam is lurking.
Avoid if you are not local.
