Il Porticciolo In Siracusa

Ended up here after finding everywhere in the market full. We arrived early lunchtime and the place was empty. The food was actually pretty good. The staff were great too. Good choice of pasta and pizza, but also salads and meat options. There was a small service charge added to the bill (noted by an earlier reviewer) but at €1 per person, can't really complain about that. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself is smart with tables inside and out.

Nice food and reasonable prices but the menu lacks many options. Staff was friendly. They have outdoor seating. We booked through the Fork.

We had such a fantastic experience at this restaurant in downtown Syracuse in Sicily! The food was delicious and authentic, it's evident that the owner & the staff are passionate & proud of their facility, service, and food. We're American's from New York & feel special that we were able to experience this unique part of Sicily filled with charm, culture and genuine people!

Il Porticciolo should be rated between Average and Very Good. After visiting The Temple of Apollo and surrounding neighborhood/waterways, we were ready for drinks and dinner. It was circa 5:30pm, and we should have known better than to look for dinner so early in Italy. Our hotel had highly recommended an Italian seafood restaurant on Ortigia, but it would not open until 6:30pm. As we tired walking in search of other than pizza joints, we had passed by Il Porticciolo several times. The fact that they were the only restaurant which would open at 6pm (and earlier if we asked nicely) made eating there easier. Our dinners which consisted of Spaghetti Alle Vongole (Spaghetti with Clams), Grigliata Mista (Mixed Seafood Grill), Calamari Grigliati (Gilled Calamari) and Verdure Grigliate (Grilled Vegetables) were actually not bad. They were nicely plated but not overly generous for the prices. The addition of some water and chardonnay rounded out the experience.
