The welcome was nothing short of magnificent. We were treated like family, and this only made us enjoy the dinner even more. The venue is magnificent, with a cozy and peaceful courtyard, a truly beautiful location. The tartare is undoubtedly the highlight, and the other dishes are excellent.

We're still having dinner, but I can't help but write a review.... Everything is delicious, from the tartare to the beef with truffle, to the beef with porcini mushrooms and cacciatore-style pannicolo... Who knows how the Chef will surprise us with dessert.

The tartare is a must-try, exceptional. The rest of the cuisine is excellent, with interesting dishes served under a beautiful orange grove. Well done!

A hot Sunday in August: a day trip to the charming medieval village of Sermoneta to escape the monotony of the city. It's against this backdrop that I decide to cross the threshold of Il Pomarancio, a restaurant that's long been on my "must try" list. I'd heard about it before: for some, a gem, for others, a less memorable experience.
We're escorted to the outdoor dining room, a terrace shaded by citrus trees that welcomes with tranquility and captivates with its beauty. The service, aided by the presence of only one other occupied table, is quick and courteous, without any particular formality.
The opening meal is a Vitello Tonnato: tender meat, a well-balanced sauce, and a convincing overall harmony. It's a shame about the small portion, which leaves me wanting more.
The highlight of the meal comes with the first courses. I choose spaghetti with yellow and red datterino tomatoes, parmesan cream, basil, and tomato powder. On paper, it seems like a simple dish, but from the first bite, it reveals remarkable balance: a fresh and colorfully vibrant interpretation, in which the sweetness of the tomato is balanced by the softness of the cheese, while the tomato powder adds aromatic depth. A perfect balance between comfort and thoughtfulness.
Two notes are in order: the menu doesn't mention the presence of guanciale, an ingredient that's far from marginal for those with dietary restrictions or preferences, and the plate was chipped. Details? Perhaps. But even details contribute to the overall perception of the experience.
At the end, a small incident: we had ordered a dessert and another one arrived. Probably an oversight by the waiter, which we let slide, appreciating the food served nonetheless.
The bill was fair, the location enchanting, the potential evident. Il Pomarancio knows how to offer moments of excellent cuisine, but on this occasion, some small flaws emerged in the attention to detail. Despite this, it remains a place worth considering for a lunch in the heart of Sermoneta, where the cuisine is capable of expressing the local area and providing moments of harmonious harmony.
