After a year we returned on purpose.
I confirm exactly my previous impressions.
Here we eat... Here we eat well... Here we eat quality food...genuine with tried and tested dishes and with a lot of experience as the main ingredient.

Coming back from the restaurant where we had lunch today I have to give so many compliments for: quality, service and place
We ate al fresco in a beautiful lounge, served with kindness and friendliness, we had the pasta al torchio with courgette flowers and the tagliatelle with hare ragout, the goulash with polenta and the creme caramel, excellent Sangiovese and the amazing price
We will be back soon, a walk from Bologna to Zocca is worth it

We are from California. We love great food. We visited Il Podetto 6 - 8 times over 3 months from April to June. (it wasn't enough). We miss their food. We were always surprised and pleased with how excellent the food was. Though it was early in the season and they were open for lunch and weekend dinners, we kept going back with new groups of friends visiting us.
Our first experience was with their fixed menu lunch. We let the chef provide what he wanted to make. For every dinner afterwards, we did the same. The pasta - perfectly made. It was excellent with its hot-out-of-the-oven, melted cheese and fresh ricotta. The Bolognese was excellent with each variation and every time we ordered it. Most of the time we ordered the 3 pasta tasting. Wow. And by the way, try their house wines. We liked it so much we bought 2 cases of the red and a half a case of their white for our home use. The owner, chef and his son were wonderful people. We all worked thru the language barrier with humor and a lot of hand gestures, google translate and a confident yes.
We met some regular patrons. The ones that spoke English were welcoming, engaging, curious and fun to talk to, making our visit more special. Going forward, once my citizenship is approved, whenever we are within an hour of Zocca, we'll stop by for a meal there. And the prices - very reasonable! For anyone visiting from out of the area, this and most of the restaurants nearby are all 4.5+. ENJOY! It's worth the trip. Plan to bring friends!

Every year a fixed stop for us, top tortelloni, top ragù, top goulash, too bad I can't taste anything else but I always recommend it anyway. Super friendly staff.

I was invited there for lunch by my aunt and uncle. The torteloni were very tasty and then the vegetables with cinghiale. Terrific.

Excellent tasty meat main courses and generous portions, competitive price. Business menu available, Podetto is among the few restaurants in the area open on Thursdays in the low season.
We arrived a little early and, in addition to not understanding where the entrance was (from the outside the restaurant looked closed) we took the managers a little by surprise. Although there was a beautiful and bright room at the entrance, near the cash register, they made us sit in a second room, large but colder. Upon leaving I understood that they had chosen to seat the workers in the first, informal room, and the other customers in the second. At the next opportunity I will insist on being able to sit with the workers.
