As soon as you arrive at the Piccolo Chalet you encounter a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff, very professional and friendly, immediately make you feel at ease. The menu offers a wide choice of exceptional typical dishes. We tasted several dishes including wild meat and more. Different types of wines are also offered, including a vast choice of Valtellina red wines. Excellent quality/price. Super recommended and added to the list of our top restaurants. Very small space so reservations required. PS. The shank really excellent.

Very typical and intimate place, maximum 30 seats. We ate mixed cold cuts and onion soup, which were of a decent standard. What really made the difference was the shank, one of the best I've ever eaten.
The desserts are also good and beautiful to look at.

Andiamo da così tanto tempo al Piccolo Chalet (tappa obbligata ogni volta che siamo in Aprica) e stiamo ogni volta così tanto bene, che pensi e dai per scontato che, guardando Internet, risulti il miglior posto dove mangiare in paese.
E quando ti accorgi che non è così (anche se quasi...) allora forse è anche un po' colpa tua, perché finora hai contribuito a non recensire un posto che merita 5 stelle!
L'ambiente è piccolo ma molto carino e curato e Monica è una padrona di casa che, insieme alla sua famiglia, fa brillare questo locale con la sua simpatia, disponibilità e competenza.
Nel menù, a fianco ai buonissimi piatti tradizionali come pizzoccheri e sciatt, ci sono alcune chicche, come i commoventi ravioli di selvaggina con riduzione al Sassella.
La cantina è molto varia e fornita e Monica ti sa ottimamente consigliare nel caso di indecisione.
I prezzi sono adeguati a ciò che mangi e bevi: certo, se si pensa secondo clichè di spendere poco solo perché si è in montagna, allora si è fuori strada. Ci sono peraltro posti in altre località montane magari più rinomate sulla carta dove spendi decisamente di più per mangiare peggio!
In sintesi: se passate ad Aprica, non potete non andare!

We have been going to the Piccolo Chalet for so long (an obligatory stop every time we are in Aprica) and we have such a good time every time, that you think and take for granted that, looking at the Internet, it is the best place to eat in town.
And when you realize that this isn't the case (even if almost...) then maybe it's also your fault, because so far you've contributed to not reviewing a place that deserves 5 stars!
The environment is small but very nice and well-kept and Monica is a hostess who, together with her family, makes this place shine with her friendliness, helpfulness and competence.
On the menu, alongside the delicious traditional dishes such as pizzoccheri and sciatt, there are some gems, such as the touching game ravioli with Sassella reduction.
The cellar is very varied and well-stocked and Monica knows how to advise you excellently in case of indecision.
The prices are adequate for what you eat and drink: of course, if you think in a cliché way of spending little just because you are in the mountains, then you are off track. Furthermore, there are places in other mountain resorts that are perhaps more famous on paper where you spend significantly more to eat worse!
In summary: if you come to Aprica, you can't miss going!

It is my safe haven for when I come with friends to my house in Aprica and in the evening we want to indulge in the whim of tasting some typical food.
Small place with lots of tables close together but a very pleasant atmosphere, with super helpful and friendly staff.
As for the food, I consider it simple but of excellent quality throughout, in fact it is ideal for letting those who don't know them too closely taste sciatt and pizzoccheri.
The second courses are also very tasty, such as pork shank or lamb.
All of this is then accompanied by an excellent range of wines.
The prices are not low but in line with other typical restaurants I have been to.

The food was good, certainly quality raw materials cooked in the correct way.
The problem in my opinion are the prices, a little high for such a rustic place and such simple dishes but above all they don't correspond to the prices on the menu on the site.

Small environment but very attentive to the service. Enjoyed a lunch in February with my wife.
Ordered decent dishes, specifically a plate of sciatt, a plate of pizzoccheri, a plate of baked shin, still water, a glass of wine and coffee.

Sinceramente siamo rimasti un pò delusi, mi sarei aspettata di meglio viste le recensioni. Essendo Valtellinesi devo dire che i pizzoccheri non erano proprio nulla di chè , anzi ....
