IL Papalino In Roma

My family loved this place! We all loved our food and had a great waiter. We have a toddler and in Italy it’s hard to find a dinner place that doesn’t have cars going by sometimes there were no cars which made it a lot easier for a toddler to roam around a little. It was also a great stop. Outside of Vatican . Gnocchi and pumpkin ravioli were dreamy and the pizza was delish.This place is so underrated!

Beautiful setting, quiet, friendly staff. Reasonable rates considering the location, very close to the Vatican.

We had a great meal, including Amatriciana pasta, fish and roast potatoes, bruschetta, and amazing desserts! Thank you so much.

About two weeks ago, I visited this restaurant late at night, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in a long time. The food was excellent, and the wine — recommended by someone I believe was the manager — perfectly complemented the meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. A young waiter, Mazzi (if I remember the name correctly), who is also a university student, helped me choose a fantastic dish. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. We ended up having a deep and engaging conversation about a wide range of topics — from AI and geopolitics to Italian and Iranian food culture. It was a rare and enriching interaction that made the night special. He even recommended a movie, My Favorited Cake, which I just watched and truly enjoyed. I'm writing this review now because his recommendation reminded me of that wonderful evening. Thank you to the whole team for the great service, food, wine, and above all, for creating such a warm and memorable experience.

The food is good, the service is fast but even if it is in the center of Rome the prices are expensive. In coffee 2€, a basket of bread 3€ without counting the 10% service charge

Truly exceptional, service was fast and friendly. All pasta dishes were available gluten free, I had the arribiatta which was delicious. perfectly located for the Vatican. We will certainly come back again

We were very hungry after our Vatican visit so we decided to sit at this restaurant as it has a terrace and we liked the menu options. The waiter was okay, we didn’t have to wait too much (terrace was also pretty empty as it was still early for dinner). The food was okay, I got the amatriciana pasta (the sauce was really good and full of flavor, but the pasta was pretty basic). My bf ordered some baked beef with potatoes which he said it was decent (but not great for the price). Overall experience was okay. Prices are a bit higher because of location.

We ate very well there. Quiet establishment inside. The terrace is noisier due to the restaurant's location on a street near the Vatican, so there is a lot of traffic. Given its location the prices are not exaggerated

Ottimo cibo tipicamente romano. Saltimbocca ottimi e super torta alla ricotta. Personale molto accogliente e disponibile.
