As background we have eaten in many "special" restaurants in different parts of the world. I prefer a dining experience rather than a simple meal. Il Pagliacco exceeded expectations in every way. The courtesy and kindness of the staff was evident without being at our elbows. The presentation our ten courses was superb. I found myself asking how could a chef come up with these combinations, particularly that take elements from the cuisine of different countries. We are not big drinkers and felt no pressure in this regard. The pace of the meal was perfect for us and exceeded three hours. My only regret is that the menu provided at the end has insufficient info for me to relay to friends. I would enthusiastically recommend this restaurant without hesitation!!!

We visited Il Pagliaccio on a whim while in Rome, and the experience did not disappoint. We chose the 10 course Circus tasting option with the wine pairing. Each dish was unique and beautifully presented. The dishes ranged from unique and interesting to truly exceptional. A few standouts were the tortella, duck, and greens desert, but every dish perfectly complemented the experience. The wine pairings were also quite good, and the variation between was thoughtful and well timed. The service was also of the highest quality, and the staff was very attentive and professional. The experience was finished off with a departing gift from the chef and staff, which was a nice touch.

A Memorable Degustation at Il Pagliaccio Our visit to Il Pagliaccio was nothing short of spectacular. We indulged in the Parallel Experience with wine pairing, and it was easily the best dining experience we've ever had. The carefully crafted menu takes you on a culinary journey that beautifully fuses Italian and Asian flavors, each dish more impressive than the last. A standout for us was the velvety risotto with onion ice cream. There's nothing overly fancy about the dish, yet the flavors come together perfectly—it’s a simple yet sophisticated masterpiece. The service was impeccable, with a special mention to Francheska, Cecilia, Mateo, and Luka, who ensured we were well looked after throughout the evening. Their attention to detail truly elevated the entire experience. A heartfelt salute to Chef Anthony Genovese, whose food philosophy shines through in every bite. It was an absolute pleasure to experience his artistry on the plate. We will definitely be back and can’t wait to recommend Il Pagliaccio to family and friends.

Excellent meal, will definitely repeat. We had the 16 plate Parallels experience and the food was reliable delicious, imaginative, and well executed. The service was very friendly and professional. There was one failure: we specified no mussels for one of our guests and a player arrived with mussels, we pointed this out and they brought a new plate, which also had a mussel! Finally they brought a third plate with no mussels, but the sauce still tasted of mussels so it was unclear if they had been used in the preparation. The waitress apologised but when you potentially put somebody's life in danger you should make more of an apology. Own up to your mistakes. That said, the rest of the experience was excellent.

Con tutto il rispetto per i ristoranti stellati romani, questo è quello che più ci ha stupito con i suoi accostamenti azzardati ma incredibilmente armoniosi. Capace di stupire anche con piatti dall'apparente semplicità disarmante ma con un gusto esplosivo ed elegante.
