A place that maintains the authenticity of a classic seaside kiosk but with high-quality service and food. It's located right on the Avola seafront. While we were dining, we could hear the sound of the sea. It offers traditional dishes with a contemporary twist, paired with fine Sicilian wines. Excellent quality ingredients. The staff is available and ready to help with any requests or needs. We'll definitely be back.

For three years now, I've been eating at Il Marinaio whenever I'm in Avola. It's a casual yet charming place, with paper tablecloths and napkins, but wine is served in glasses (important details), and service is provided by kind, smiling staff. But the real highlight is the ingredients and the people who prepare them. Lucia and Filippo are truly brilliant in the kitchen! You absolutely must try the caponata, including the swordfish version, the raw seafood (I had the raw red shrimp seasoned with extra virgin olive oil, and they were superb), and the various pasta dishes: orecchiette with lobster and gnocchi with cherry tomatoes and red shrimp, simply sublime. Let's be clear: this is a seafood trattoria where Sicilian cuisine reigns supreme, a cuisine notoriously not sparing in seasoning. So, don't expect fusion or gourmet cuisine. That said, if you're looking for a cute little place to eat fresh fish cooked well, Sicilian style, you've come to the right place. Finally, excellent value for money. Congratulations to Lucia (and her fried dishes), Filippo (and his first courses), and the entire staff. Keep up the good work! See you next year.
