If you're passing through or living in Bologna and want a quality seafood lunch without having to endure hours of highway travel, then Il Marinaio, right next to the Savena River lock, is an excellent choice. I went there today for the first time and was definitely satisfied. The price was also fair. The place is certainly dated, but I prioritize the quality of the seafood and the service. These are really good, and I'll be back soon.

Very nice and clean atmosphere. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. The food is truly excellent. Fast service. Fair prices. I ate very well and will gladly return. I highly recommend it.

For three years now, this has been a regular stop for family seafood. Excellent appetizers, delicious grilled dishes, and their home-grown vegetables are truly superb. It's hard to find honest places in Bologna that serve fish like this—always a pleasure!

I had a great time. We went for an early dinner. There were two of us. The spaghetti with clams was plentiful and very well-made, the fried fish was excellent. The sea bass was excellent, and the skewers were excellent. I'd definitely recommend the sea bass. For dessert, the pastiera was a top-notch. I'd gladly return, and the parking problem is a minor issue.
