Super recommended local place. We went for a dinner with fish specialties and the place absolutely did not disappoint us, from the attentive, friendly and kind staff, to the very nice and well-kept place, to the food, excellent and with fresh local products. Among the additional choices also the catch of the day supplied by local fishermen and with refined and tasty dishes. We had mussel soup, bavette with monkfish and prawns, linguine with swordfish and scampi. Everything really excellent, congratulations. Honest prices considering the complex, and obviously the raw material. The two of us spent 70 including the house wine (Cantine Santa Maria la Palma Alghero, excellent wine). We will be back

We were there today and ate primi and a pesce grigliato. Both those Pasta and fish were excellent. The restaurant is on a street parallel to the harbor. The service is very attentive. A small bottle of white wine and Acqua San Martino. Simply good and recommended!

We went to the restaurant on the recommendation of a friend to try the spaghetti with octopus dish, very good, it lived up to expectations. The place looks classic but the service is very good. As a negative point, I didn't like it at all, I tried to order some ravioli stuffed with lobster (€18) but they told me that they were out of stock and that they had the same dish but with prawn ravioli, although it is not the same as the lobster I decided to accept. the recommendation. When the bill arrived, they charged me €22 for that dish under the concept of the suggestion of the day (aside from the fact that there were only 6 ravioli). I consider that you cannot change a dish on the menu for another of lower quality and charge €4 more.

The service was great, the staff speaks other languages ​​and you can also purchase the menu in other languages. It is a very clean and tidy place. Very calm. It has a living room and a terrace at street level. It is ideal for those who want seafood. We ordered pasta with mussels and a vegetarian dish. All delicious. I think price quality is consistent.

Ottimo ristorante a Porto Torres. Abbiamo cenato nella veranda esterna con pesce freschissimo e con l’estrema gentilezza di tutto il personale che ci ha amabilmente descritto le pietanze da noi scelte nel menu. Ottimo anche il vino e, nel complesso, l’atmosfera del locale. Ve lo suggerisco senza indugio. Massimo

Pausa Caffè

04/09/2024: My wife and I noticed this cafe on our travels during our 10-day stay in Alghero and we were keen to try it for lunch. I'm pretty sure they only serve breakfast and lunch and NOT dinner but, no doubt the business owner can correct me, if that's wrong. We called in at about 1.50pm on Sunday 1 September 2024 (they close at 3pm on Sundays, we believe). What a lovely surprise it was and just as good as we hoped it would be. We ordered Formaggio Arrosto to share as a starter. After that we chose Gnocchetti Alla Campidanese and a Bomba Salad for our main courses. These were served with 5 (yes, 5!) bread rolls. The portions were very generous and the quality of the starter, main courses and even the bread rolls was outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. We sat and enjoyed the very Italian atmosphere of male customers and female staff talking in that loud, expressive, Italian way. All accompanied by music from the tv. The ladies who served us were really friendly and professional and the cafe style is modern, clean and fun. All in all a memorable experience for us. We won't go back but only because we'll probably never be back in Alghero. But anyone reading this and thinking of lunch really should try Pausa Caffe. I can't vouch for the breakfasts, because we only had lunch but the food, service and atmosphere were all first class. Update of Wednesday 4 September 2024 - We enjoyed our first meal here so much that we chose the Pausa Caffe for our final meal in Alghero, before flying home, as we enjoyed eating here more than anywhere else we'd tried. On this second occasion we ordered two salads, a Caesar and a Salmon and both were superb, again served with bread rolls. We had to wait until 12.30pm, as they don't serve lunch until then so we just sat and enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere again. Perfect! Lots of locals, obviously well-known to the staff made for a lovely friendly experience. A wonderful, final memory of Alghero. We would definitely recommend.
01/09/2024: Delicious (very big) English breakfast. Even for two there is enough to eat. Delicious coffee and chocolate/pistachio croissants. Very nice and helpful staff ☀️
