A culinary highlight in Tropea! From the moment you enter the restaurant, you sense the attention to detail – both in the stylish ambience and the attentive, courteous service. The dishes impress with their highest quality, fresh regional ingredients, and creative yet authentic preparation. We were particularly impressed by the homemade pasta dish with freshly caught fish – delicious and perfectly balanced. The experience was rounded off by an excellent wine selection and the stunning view of the sea. A restaurant that we can recommend with a clear conscience – and one that we will definitely visit again on our next visit to Tropea.

Beautifully run restaurant by Carmello who made our evening welcoming and inviting. We ordered gnocchi with pesto. The gnocchi were melt in your mouth home made with a basil pesto that cannot in my lifetime be replicated. All the staff are efficient and helpful. The food aromas from each surrounding table just enticed you to return to try each item on the menu.

Il posto migliore al mondo, per la qualità del cibo e l’accoglienza del proprietario e del personale. Hanno appreso da nostra figlia del compleanno di mio marito e hanno organizzato una piccola festa per lui, nostra figlia si è addormentata sul tavolo e ci hanno accompagnato con la propria macchina a riprendere la nostra all’ingresso di Tropea. Cibo buonissimo e prezzo perfetto. Da altre parti turistiche non mi è mi è mai capitato. Fantastico e da non perdere!

Prenotato quasi per caso abbiamo scoperto un ottimo ristorante nel cuore storico di Tropea. Personale di sala gentilissimo fin dalla prima telefonata e capace di metterti subito a proprio agio. Qualità del cibo davvero eccellente cucinato in modo sapiente. Consigliatissimo. Sicuro noi torneremo quando saremo di nuovo in giro nei dintorni della Costa degli Dei.

31/05/2025: We had lunch at the Il Nostrano restaurant, in a pleasant location on the seafront. The restaurant is tastefully furnished, especially outside where white dominates. I really enjoyed the mixed appetizer with various tastings and the mussels with pepper, really tasty (I would have put a few more croutons). The seafood linguine, on the other hand, convinced me less: too seasoned for my taste, and a bit invasive compared to the flavor of the fish. The staff was kind and helpful, even though we had to ask several times to bring water, but the restaurant was full and the wait was justified. You can choose whether to eat inside or outside, which is always appreciated. Overall, a good lunch.
29/05/2025: Let's start with the very warm welcome, sublime and tasty food, the owner Mr. Walter came to greet us even though we were strangers, I was there one Sunday for lunch and a week later I went back for dinner even though I live 60km away. I recommend it

20/05/2025: I ordered the catch of the day, and it was just as good as I hoped—fresh and full of flavor. The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. The only thing missing was some background music to set the mood. Otherwise, everything was spot on!
20/05/2025: We were disappointed after reading the positive reviews. The greeting was not friendly, we were sat on a small table in the corner both looking at a wall. The rest of the restaurant was virtually empty but set out with larger tables. Service was unprofessional and surly. There was no explanation of the menu, and we were asked did we want the pizzeria or restaurant menu - why did we have to choose one or the other? The decor is very hard and brightly lit. The sound is echoing and we heard every word of a conversation at the other side of the room. The staff are unfriendly and don’t smile. My crab pasta was full of whole small crabs, which were inedible. My partner enjoyed his mussels and clams. Overall there was little atmosphere, the staff in the kitchen paid no notice to the customers, they were watching a screen on the pass, and let two young inexperienced individuals struggle. The food was not enjoyable. I told the waiter I wasn’t enjoying it but he just shrugged and walked away. The owners need to consider the customer experience from greeting, ambience, service and food. Edit: The rant below from the owner demonstrates how willing he is to take on feedback. Restaurants are facing tough times and need to take on feedback from customers, not berate them publicly for taking the time to make useful comments. Never mind, there are plenty of lovely restaurants in Tropea.
