Mi novia, su madre y yo visitamos hoy para almorzar, en parte porque la mayoría de los otros restaurantes en Scansano estaban cerrados. Realmente nos sorprendió de la manera más maravillosa. El saludo que recibimos para empezar fue muy amable, y el encantador chef vino a saludarnos. Cuando nuestra comida llegó era absolutamente delicioso y muy auténtico, una comida italiana / toscana adecuada. La pasta de trufa de mi novia era sensacional. Después charlamos con nuestro chef, y él muy amablemente nos dio una porción gratis de Zuppa Inglesa (un postre que a mi novia le encantó cuando su abuela lo hizo para ella cuando era niña en Liguria). En resumen, una experiencia memorable en esta encantadora ciudad.

We had a very good time. Delicious bruschetta and wild boar ham. Excellent gnocchi with sage and porcini mushrooms, and finally roasted potatoes. We will be back.

You have to take the narrow descending street on the right after leaving piazza Garibaldi behind you to find this small hidden restaurant which serves traditional local cuisine. A few rooms in the inside, and more tables on the terrace outside in the warm season.

Good rustic style restaurant. The Tuscan crostini are discreet. Convincing red wine. Good tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and truffles. Good vetellone steak and perfect cooking. Baked potatoes not exciting. Delicious and well seasoned chicory. Delicious tiramisu and cantuccini. Delicious house bitters. Friendly and helpful room attendants. I recommend it.

We visited Scansano for the wine festival, the Grottone, what can I say, a typical Tuscan restaurant, very old, a little too full of things, bottles... especially at the entrance, managed by the classic Tuscan innkeeper of a time age, friendly, welcomed us with a nice flask of red wine, ate good food, nothing to say, the appetizer of crostini to be seen again, all stuff from jars...
However, a negative note to the friendly host, we witnessed and heard a big argument between him and the cook in the kitchen, unfortunately it is not good to hear such discussions with guests who have yet to dine....
