Il Grillo Moro In Sovicille

Great restaurant! We had dinner there during our two-day stay at the B&B Casa Di Campagna. There's a fairly large selection of food and wine. The food and our chosen rosé wine were very, very delicious. The tiramisu was a dream 😊 Good service, and the value for money is appropriate for the ambiance and the selection of food and wine.

A place that deserves, the flagship is the meat, very good, excellent service with nice people. Price adequate to the quality of the food, good, highly recommended...

One good thing first: the waiters all speak good English! We had asked in advance for a prepared table for our engagement, which was approved by the staff. When we arrived we were told that it didn't matter where we sat - accordingly nothing was prepared, no candle, flowers not even a table in a quiet corner. We made a reservation here because the restaurant was recommended to us and the reviews were also very good. Unfortunately, our hopes were not met. Unfortunately, the negligence of the employees continued throughout the evening :( We ordered two glasses of white wine and only got one. A spoon was only brought to the tomato soup upon request, and the same goes for the Bolognese. Our used cutlery and used cheese bowl were not taken away up until we left. And then, unfortunately, there was the situation with the desserts... We wanted to order something for dessert, but didn't get a menu, instead a woman was supposed to come to us and tell us what we can order. However, the woman in question stood at the neighboring table and spoke to the restaurant guests there? We were ignored until we finally asked for the bill, which we paid at the reception desk. The food itself was okay, nothing extraordinary or overly surprising. The tartar was unseasoned and very coarse, and the Bolognese was also rather mediocre - not bad, but as I said, not particularly extraordinary either. We were really disappointed with the experience and unfortunately will not be coming back. It was probably just that one day and the service is probably better on other days, but unfortunately it didn't work out for us today.

We stumbled upon Il Grillo Moro through Google Maps on our last night in Italy and decided to give it a try even without a reservation. Despite the parking lot being nearly full and the restaurant already bustling with guests, the manager kindly managed to accommodate a table for the four of us. That warm welcome set the tone for an unforgettable evening. From the moment we sat down, the service was outstanding. The staff was quick, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful, checking in just the right amount to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The food? Absolutely amazing. Our kids had the fried rabbit with roasted potatoes, and to our delight, they loved it! My husband and I started with the beef tartare, it was perfectly seasoned and incredibly delicious. We followed that with the Florentine steak, which was nothing short of phenomenal: rich in flavor, juicy, and expertly prepared. We paired our meal with a bottle of the 2021 Reserva, which complemented the steak beautifully and added the perfect touch to the evening. Out of all the restaurants we visited during our stay in Sovicille, Il Grillo Moro was hands down the best. It turned our final dinner in Italy into a magical, memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Exceptional, everything here is exceptional, even the salt they use. The selection of products borders on the obsessive. Every raw material seems to be chosen with care and worked with passion. The service is attentive and fast. The location is sophisticated, typically Tuscan but informal enough to make you feel at a friend's house. Filippo, the boss, is perfect, he welcomes everyone with sober warmth and his collaborators are attentive and thoughtful.

The place... Simple and refined atmosphere. The service... Excellent and attentive. The staff... Kind and friendly. The food... Perfect! Finding yourself eating a dinner more than 500km from home and feeling at home is possible, we found this beautiful restaurant, ate tortelli with ossobuco, pappardelle with Chianina ragù, and a very good (even if the term is reductive) Fiorentina, Filippo taught us that it must be relaxed to be enjoyed in the best way. How much wisdom! We accepted all the advice and left happy, full and satisfied spending less than we thought! Highly recommended. I hope to return to these parts, for an encore! Thank you!

Pranzato con moglie e figlio in questo bel ristorante. Nonostante fosse pieno e con tavolate importanti, ci hanno preso l'ordine velocemente e servito in 15 minuti. Servizio eccellente. Il cibo non è da meno, maialino superbo. Prezzo corretto. Consigliato.

Esperienza da 10 e lode! Non vediamo l’ora di tornarci, e magari soggiornare anche nel loro BB. Staff troppo simpatico e di compagnia e piatti superlativi. Non solo la carne come si può vedere dalle foto, ma anche tutto il resto dei piatti. Abbiamo preso tortelli all’ossobuco, tagliata e faraona.
