There's also outdoor seating. We arrived right at 7 p.m. and were able to snag a spot, but it got very crowded after that :) The appetizers were good, but we would have preferred another main course. We only had the primo—spaghetti with seafood was on the daily special and very tasty. We also had the Aperol Spritz alternative :)

We stopped at Il Genovese during a short stop in Genoa and couldn't have chosen a better place! We discovered it online and were thrilled: a warm welcome, kind and helpful staff, and an authentic atmosphere that immediately immerses you in Ligurian cuisine. We wanted to try something traditional, and this restaurant exceeded all expectations: everything was delicious, carefully prepared, and truly authentic. We absolutely recommend it to anyone seeking true tradition and quality. "Il gruppo di Foggia"

Perhaps, given all the awards hanging on the door, our expectations were too high, but we found the fried food very greasy and the trofie overcooked... what a shame!

We dined at this restaurant, run by a renowned chef. The pesto is excellent, as is the pasta. I imagine the other dishes are too! We also celebrated my wife's birthday there, and the staff was very kind to keep the tart as a surprise and helped me serve it :) However, we were surprised to be charged for the water and the small pesto dishes offered directly upon our arrival: €12, the equivalent of a dish. We weren't even aware that it was a charge; no one told us, and it was delivered directly to our table. I also didn't appreciate the rush and the general pace; we felt they were a bit rushed.

Restaurant located near the shopping street. Friendly service and good food. In Italy, they usually charge a cover per person, which brings the bill to between €3 and €6 per person.

Recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing dinner with a wide selection of high-quality traditional dishes that reflect Genoese/Ligurian cuisine (and I say this as a local). Kudos to the waiter, who not only served us, but also made us feel welcome and entertained us with jokes and laughter between courses.

Pranzo in settimana Con moglie e bimbo piccolo . Ordinato centopelli Fritte E a ciughe ripiene come antipasto Gnocchi di castagne al pesto e pansotti al sugo si noci un secondo fuori menù , che non svevo mai mangiato( matrice di buridda) utero fi bovino Tiramisù scomposto 2L di acqua 1/4 di bianco 1 pesti fresco da portare via 80 euro Tutti super

Con un amico toscano ho prenotato in questo locale una settimana prima in quanto avevo provato altre volte all’ora di pranzo e non avevo trovato posto ( salvo avere la pazienza di aspettare davanti alla porta). Trofie al pesto eccellenti così come lo stoccafisso accomodato . Cordialità e servizio celere sono un altro punto a favore di chi gestisce il locale. Da provare assolutamente anche per saggiare altre pietanze viste passare e servite ad altri tavoli.

17/08/2025: My wife and I had dinner at this wonderful restaurant on the farm located on the hills of Lavagna, surrounded by greenery with centuries-old olive trees and a beautiful view of Portofino. The farm also has several rooms above the restaurant and hosts birthdays, confirmations, baptisms, and weddings. You can eat indoors in a large dining room or outdoors, either at outdoor tables overlooking Portofino or under the covered pergola with a view of the mountains only. The tables are beautifully set with cloth tablecloths and napkins, except in the pergola where the tables have paper tablecloths and napkins; perhaps cloth ones would be a good idea. At the beginning of the dinner, we were served two complimentary rabbit liver pates, and then we ordered the handmade "mal di indietro" ravioli with garden herbs as our first course, followed by handmade summer plantain maltagliati with Ligurian zucchini, mint, and clam pesto. For main courses, we shared a tender, soy-seared calamari on a puree of cannellini beans, with endive and spicy paprika powder. For dessert, we shared Paolo's cake, a soft sponge cake with dulce de leche cream. We loved everything, it was plentiful, delicious, and delicious. Chef Paolo Passano comes to greet guests during dinner and offers his exquisite dishes, which also have an exotic touch, created by Paolo, who lived in South America for many years. The large staff is elegantly dressed, welcoming, smiling, competent, professional, friendly, and helpful. 10/08/2025: If I can get a better table by paying more, I'm happy to do so. It's possible here. Booking online, I chose to pay €8.50 more per person for a table in the olive grove, as there are no longer any sea-view tables available. The table was a disappointment. For three people, a rectangular table in an awkward position, so much so that two had to sit along the long side and one at the head. We asked to change tables and dined on the outdoor terrace, in a decidedly pleasant atmosphere. At the end of the dinner, we were refunded the amount for the "special" table, without having to ask. We arrived at 9:00 PM and waited over 50 minutes for a cheese appetizer. The first courses arrived at 10:30 PM, after having to request them. Many waiters were kind and helpful, but the service was inexplicably so slow that we lost our appetite. A discordant note was the cheap and poorly made paper napkins, as well as the invitation to keep my fork from the previous course. The chef is friendly and comes out to introduce himself. The first courses are delicious, sophisticated, and uncommon. The restaurant has a beautiful style and clearly targets a clientele willing to spend. The clientele does its part, but from what I've seen, the restaurant needs to make some effort to meet their expectations.
