Il Genovese is a small, cozy two-story spot that feels very local — mostly locals eating here, which is always a good sign. It’s also an easy walk from the cruise port, making it perfect for a port-day meal. We had the gnocchi, which was really good — soft, comforting, and full of flavor. For dessert, the fried sweet milk was such a treat and totally worth ordering. The complimentary bread was perfect too, which always sets the tone. The menu has lots of options, and prices for both food and wine are very reasonable. Simple, relaxed, and satisfying — a great stop if you want good food without anything fancy or touristy.

Everything was good, especially the pesto, which was delicious. The service was attentive and the quality/price ratio was excellent. The desserts were excellent, as was the fried food.

07/01/2026: A great alternative to the touristy spots in Santa Margherita Ligure or Camogli. Excellently prepared seafood dishes at a more than affordable price. Service by young, truly capable and almost professional staff from the local hotel school.
06/01/2026: We went there for lunch and had a great time. The atmosphere is welcoming and intimate, with two different areas hosting the tables. We were on a "veranda" overlooking the street and the mountains, which was lovely. The staff greeted us immediately; they were two young, pleasant people; the service was prompt. The food truly lived up to expectations, and the price was reasonable. We'll definitely be back.
