Il Gelato di Bea In Milano

Good artisanal gelato at reasonable prices for Milan. They have some tasty vegan options besides fruit, such as dark chocolate and almond. I would encourage the owners to experiment and add two or three vegan options to the menu. Recommended.

The best pistachio ice cream I've ever had! It's now 2 weeks later, and I'm still thinking about it 😄

Despite the shop's name, I haven't tried the gelato (yet). I was drawn by a sign: Sicilian cannoli filled to order. And I was delighted! Delicious. Personally, I prefer the classic combination: candied orange peel on one end and chopped pistachios on the other. The next day, I returned with my wife and we had seconds. For Saturday, I sent a friend who was in charge of delivering desserts for the evening. Everyone was happy! Warning: since they have to be filled to order, if you want more than a couple of cannoli, it's best to make a reservation or expect a wait. Finally, we also missed out on a pastiera for Easter. Again: Great Success! When I return to Milan, I've promised myself I'll try the gelato (extremely tempting). And here I am... with the promised update: My wife and I had a couple of gelatos to go. She had orange and salted pistachio. I had salted pistachio and hazelnut. My wife found everything very pleasant, but I had some reservations about the salted pistachio. The flavor was good and decidedly "pistachio-like," but I'm not a fan of savory gelato (salty flavors, for me, are reserved for hot dishes). My fault (the flavor name is clearly "salted pistachio"). The hazelnut was very satisfying. And since we had guests the next evening, we ordered a cassata. Again, a very "Sicilian" product. Rightly so, and not overly sweet, with excellent flavors of candied fruit and ricotta. My wife, myself, and our guests appreciated it. Over time, Il Gelato di Bea has become a favorite among our friends, too. When we grill, what better way to end a meal than with some cannoli or cassata?

I discovered this ice cream shop by chance, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The fig flavor is a true delight, sweet and refined, while the Bronte flavor captures all the intensity and creaminess of real pistachio.
