Absolutely incredible meal and service. We made a reservation to sit outside, the owner greeted us with kindness and our server Cassa was so attentive and wonderful. The ravioli was amazing.

We happened to arrive at Il Crotto with a baby around 8:00 PM on Saturday. We had no idea this place was so popular, and frankly, we had absolutely no room for a walk-in. We noticed it wasn't unwillingness, but genuinely that no tables were becoming available. Nevertheless, the lovely waitresses (who were incredibly skilled) managed to get us a table with our child and dog. There is no doubt about the food: fantastic, fresh, original, and well prepared by people with passion. I read in the reviews that some tourists find it too expensive or don't want to pay a service fee. In that case, I like to say to them: stay away and leave a table for people who recognize top quality and are happy to pay for it. A highlight was our chestnut pasta con Speck. 5 stars! Hopefully, we can return more often. Thanks again for letting us sit down.

The setting was absolutely lovely. We had a truly excellent meal. The complimentary limoncello at the end was a real bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We always pass by on our motorbikes, but we've never stopped. We felt like making a reservation, since we were on our motorbikes, and we made this wonderful discovery. Three couples of friends. We had delicious starters, thanks to the advice of the waitress Coca, who takes care of her basil for the first course (very kind, attentive, and with a few touches at the end, but the entire staff was top-notch, attentive, kind, and fast), and meat-based main courses (that melted in your mouth). Draught wine, which is often similar to Tavernello, in this case a little more expensive than usual, but delicious. A welcome glass. Fast service despite the full tables. What can I say? Well done!!!! PS: I love baked potatoes, they were delicious.

Amazing restaurant with the best food I’ve had in a long time. The steak melted in your mouth and the sautéed potatoes were divine! The waitresses were exceptional and the service was quick. Free prosecco and lots and lots of tasty bread put the cherry on the top!

We've been here several times and the food has always been fantastic. The meat dishes are truly delicious, and the pasta starter is also very tasty (if you share a portion, it's served directly on two plates). Unfortunately, we feel that the large international clientele has negatively impacted the service and the overall atmosphere; you feel rather rushed. We finished our appetizer and main course in 30 minutes (the side dish arrived after we were almost finished with the meat), which didn't exactly create a relaxing holiday atmosphere. The prices, as far as I can remember, have also increased significantly and are no longer commensurate with the quality of the food.

For the past five years, we have come to Lake Como twice every year, dining all around the west and east sides of the lake — including several renowned 5-star hotel restaurants. None have reached the level of Il Crotto. The Food – Exceptional in every sense. Fresh, high-quality ingredients prepared with authenticity and care. You can taste that this is family-owned and passionately run. Every dish feels honest, refined without being pretentious, and deeply rooted in tradition. The portions are generous — true Italian hospitality — yet beautifully presented. The Ambience - Warm, elegant, and timeless. Lierna itself feels like a little village lost in time, and Il Crotto captures that charm perfectly. Dining here feels intimate, peaceful, and genuinely Italian — not touristy, not commercial, just authentic. The Service – Flawless. Attentive without hovering, welcoming without being formal. You are treated like a valued guest, not a table number. The entire team radiates pride in what they do. The restaurant is immaculate, every detail thoughtfully cared for.
