Easter Monday lunch.
Abundant appetizers and truly sublime cold cuts. Pizzoccheri della Valtellina and linguine with venison ragù were spectacular. The tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms wasn't everyone's cup of tea. But overall, the food was very good. The service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I recommend it.

Excellent value for money. On the main road connecting Piona to Colico, just a few meters from the road leading uphill to Piona Abbey, waiting for the Abbey to open at 2:00 PM (closed from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM).

I'm a bus driver, I stopped at this restaurant with a group about 3 years ago and I stopped there yesterday with a colleague but we had no passengers, anyway the food is really good.

Excellent. The decor is dated. But the dishes, which have made Italian cuisine history, are there to remind you that quantity matters, too, and that leaving the table hungry is a sin. Fair price. Excellent quality. Courtesy in the dining room is commendable. It's obvious that everything is in proportion to the price paid.

Tried it only once for a full group lunch. At first glance, it seemed very welcoming with friendly staff. The food, typically Valtellina, is well-cooked and, while obviously heavy in cheese, relatively lightly oily.
The sciatt were delicious, not dripping with frying oil, and, I must say, the pizzoccheri were truly my favorite: few vegetables, plenty of cheese, but not floating in the oil.
The cheeses were very good.
Unfortunately, I didn't see any desserts or any homemade liqueurs.
Prices are average to high.
Logistically, it's not the most convenient for a Milanese, but I'd definitely return.
