We made a reservation for a large group, but the service was slow while we waited for our pizzas. After a long wait, we ate because we were hungry, but personally, I didn't particularly enjoy it. I won't be returning.

There were four of us and we had three really delicious meals. Unfortunately, the pizza was cold and the tomato salad was rather bland. What was really unacceptable, however, was that the second course was already brought to the table even though the first hadn't even been eaten yet. You're almost forced to eat quickly so the rest doesn't get cold. Then we were recommended a wine, and when we wanted to order the second bottle, there were none left.

It was a positive experience. Excellent food, and I recommend the pizza. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the owner is truly personable and professional.

The food and staff are absolutely top-notch. We're from Catania, but every time we come to Giardini Naxos, Il Covo Restaurant/Pizzeria is a must! Highly recommended.

23/10/2025: This restaurant may as well be one of the best places I’ve ever had dinner. We found it online and decided to check it out spontaneously, and just wow. The garden is beautiful, with several citrus trees. Super romantic atmosphere. All the staff has specific roles, so the sommelier only does take wine orders, the waitresses only bring food and take away empty plates or refill empty glasses and there are separate people for taking food orders or bringing out the bill. Although it might feel a bit slow (reading some of the other comments), there definitely is a system in place that works well. And then the food… eating a variety of vegetarian food has been difficult in Sicily. Not at this restaurant; they have an amazing selection of high quality vegetarian food. Probably the best vegetarian food we’ve ever had. We started with a delicious burrata and tomatoes, then lemon linguini, fried artichoke and shared two desserts. We did not have any wine, just two bottles of water and I was surprised with how low the bill was for the amazing quality of food. Feels like dining in a Michelin setting, but for a super reasonable price. Thank you to the staff for this amazing experience!
19/10/2025: The place is enchanting at first glance. The garden is beautifully kept, and the exposed stone gives the setting a sense of age. In short: beautiful! Except for the interior, which is a bit bare. The quality of the food is truly high. The raw fish is delicious, and the tagliolini with purple shrimp and Bronte pistachios are truly special. I highly recommend it! The value for money, for Taormina, is extremely good. The focaccia served with olive oil—a local custom, but usually only with bread—is also very good. The service is attentive. Nothing special, but definitely worthy of the place.

19/09/2025: Tasty but overpriced food in an unfortunate setting. You're sitting on top of a main avenue and the noise/exhaust from constant traffic (mostly motorcycels, and buses) makes eating here a literal headache. Small portions and a 4 euro cover per person make this an terrible value despite the quality of the food.
17/09/2025: New to Sicily and it took me an hour to decide where to eat. I ended up here because the touristy spot nearby was too busy and wow, I was lucky. The seafood was unbelievable. I had the mussels ‘mare’ starter and the seafood linguine, and both were hands down the best seafood I’ve ever eaten in my life. Everything was cooked to perfection nothing overdone, just fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable. The staff had real character, and the chefs put their own creative spin on every dish, even the tiramisù. I walked in with pictures and left with one of the best first dining experiences I could have imagined in Taormina. Highly recommend!
