Featuring quality, always fresh, and local ingredients, the menu offers a wide variety of fish (especially the raw seafood and spider crab), meat, and vegetarian dishes, with vegetables sourced directly from the gardens on the island of Sant'Erasmo. The restaurant is run by the delightful Benelli family, who imbue the entire restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Don't miss Mrs. Benelli's desserts, each one more delicious than the last (the panna cotta and cheesecake are especially exceptional)! A special mention goes to head waiter Richard, who is incredibly knowledgeable and charming! Delicious food, a warm, family atmosphere... Highly recommended!

One of the most outstanding restaurant experiences that I have ever had. The food and service were both remarkable. The staff were exceptional and friendly. We were especially impressed by Richard who was very charming, knowledgeable, and made our experience even more memorable.

Given the standing of the establishment, we expected a more distinctive and creative cuisine, with that apparent simplicity that makes Italian gastronomy so exceptional. The restaurant itself, however, is absolutely beautiful.

We dined at Al Covo for our final dinner in Venice and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant had a nice assortment of indoor and outdoor seating. A reservation was needed due to it being a very popular spot amongst tourists and locals. The service staff was extremely professional, knowledgeable of all dishes, and happy to help us in English. We tried the daily special scallops, vegetarian pasta, and sole. Every dish was cooked to perfection with unique flavors and plating. While we did not elect to have wine, their selection was extensive. They also had a wide variety of homemade desserts to complement the meal. Overall this is a very high end establishment that delivered a fantastic dinner service. Thank you Al Covo staff for knocking it out of the park!
