Extraordinary! This restaurant is among the top 3 I've ever dined at. The service is impeccable, the food is extraordinary, and the wine pairings are magical. It's quite expensive, but by saving on one Big Mac a week, you can easily eat there for two and create unforgettable memories! Truly haute cuisine.

We spent a truly special evening at this Michelin-starred restaurant! What struck us immediately was the service: impeccable, attentive to every detail, always smiling but never intrusive. We felt welcomed and pampered throughout the dinner. The atmosphere is elegant yet warm and relaxed, the kind of place where time seems to stand still and you savor every moment. And then the desserts... simply spectacular! For us, they were the highlight of the evening: beautiful to look at, surprising in flavor, and perfectly balanced. A finale that alone is worth the visit. Compliments to the entire staff for the passion and attention they put into every detail. It's one of those experiences that stays in your heart and we recommend it without hesitation.

Unforgettable experience and excellent service

Food was really mixed. The first thing almost made me yak, but I also had the best prawns I’ve ever had in my life. The service was solid. Not sure if it’s worth the price, especially since it’s super hit or miss. Get the prawns, everything else was either okay or bad.

Our first night in Rome on our honeymoon was an absolutely wonderful experience, and we're so glad we chose this restaurant. The server explained the dishes in fluent Japanese, allowing us to fully appreciate the background and care put into each dish, even though we're not fluent in Italian or English. The cuisine, while based on Italian cooking, incorporated elements of Japanese seasonings and ingredients, resulting in a delicate and multi-layered flavor profile with each bite offering a new discovery. Unlike the robust and simple Italian food you might find in a typical trattoria, each dish possessed a delicate and gentle quality reminiscent of Japanese kaiseki cuisine, leaving us deeply impressed. The shrimp dishes, in particular, were astonishing in their combination of flavors and the way the aromas unfolded. And the carbonara-inspired dessert was a playful yet perfectly executed creation, a truly unique and wonderful dish only this restaurant could offer. Beyond the delicious food, the warm hospitality of the staff made our first night of our honeymoon an unforgettable memory. This is a restaurant I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Rome. Service is commendable with comitas (courtesy), demonstrating pinpoint precision and a timeless discretion, making every visitor feel perfectly at ease without ever veering into excessive formality. The heart of the experience lies in the cuisine's extraordinary ability to bring together the memory of childhood flavors with the intellect of contemporary technique. The dishes celebrate the very essence of Roman magnar, bringing exceptional raw materials to the table, crafted with an almost devotional respect. Special mention goes to the first courses, true architectural pillars of Lazio's culinary tradition, releasing intense and enveloping aromas that evoke the generosity of patrician tables, while maintaining a lightness and cleanness of masterful execution. To make a measured and purely constructive observation, in some sections of the tasting menu the transition between the markedly traditional flavors and the more creative, avant-garde thrusts seems slightly fragmented, almost as if the zeal for innovation were seeking an all-too-pacific compromise with the classicism of the location. Furthermore, although the cellar is monumental, brimming with internationally renowned labels, a more pronounced and courageous focus on artisanal production and the native grape varieties of the Lazio region would have brought a further nuance of vibrant Romanitas to the entire experience. In conclusion, Il Convivio Troiani confirms itself as an irreplaceable haute cuisine landmark and a reference point where dining is considered a sacred ritual of sharing and culture. The price accurately reflects the prestige of the offerings, the central location, and the historic significance of the establishment.
