A hidden gem in Lucca! We first went there on our host's recommendation, and although the exterior wasn't much to look at, the atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming, the service exceptional. You can really feel the family atmosphere, with the daughter, the uncle, and the mother running it, and that's so precious. We enjoyed it so much that we went three times during our week-long stay! My dad ate the best pork chop of his life (and he's not getting any younger, he's eaten a lot of chops), the Florentine veal cutlet and the meatballs were also delicious. The portions are so generous that you almost don't have room for dessert, even though their crema catalana is absolutely divine (and I didn't try it, but my grandma loved the tiramisu!). The prices are very reasonable for such excellent quality! The best part is that after your meal, they have a butcher shop (which has been there for three generations). Needless to say, we took advantage of it to buy some delicious Parma ham, which they even vacuum-sealed for us to take back to France. I recommend it 200%!
