Good evening On Sunday midday, 4 couples met for lunch for a reunion. I chose a farmhouse because, being a reunion, I didn't want any arguments about dividing the bill at the end. So I check the various reviews of the various farmhouses in the area and this also attracted me a little due to the name "Il Castagno" (I imagined chestnut-based dishes). I call two weeks in advance and they can't tell me exactly how the menu will be made up, they say they decide from time to time unless we have preferences and therefore the price changes, there's no problem. They offer a fixed menu consisting of a starter, a choice between three first courses and three second courses, water, wine and coffee. €.33,00 each. Ok I'll book in the dark, when we arrive the place is very nice both inside and outside, the tables set with cloth tablecloths and well looked after, the bathrooms clean. The waitress shows us the menu and we choose. We start with a tray of mixed appetizers of cured meats, goat cheese with honey, a courgette omelette. Good. As a first course, the choice between rice, pumpkin and sausage, ravioli with butter and sage, pasta with pepper sauce. I chose a pumpkin and sausage risotto which was good, a little overcooked but good, right portions. As a second course, the choice between polenta with sausage and onion sauce, braised meat with polenta and polenta with minced meat sauce, I chose the sausage, which was discreet. Bulk wine and water in the jug then the coffee. What to say, I don't know if I will go back, for a fixed menu for what was proposed to me I would have expected a few euros less. I'm not saying €.10/12.00 as can happen at midday for a business lunch in some trattorias on the state roads, which sometimes surprise in a positive way with the proposal they offer. If you want to eat something different I don't recommend this farm.

We organized the dinner for our daughter's baptism here with a menu consisting of mixed starters, first and second November 2023. Mrs. Daniela was very professional and helpful, organizing everything down to the smallest detail from the wedding favor to the sugared almonds, etc. Farmhouse immersed in the greenery of the forest, very quiet with a small playground. We will be happy to visit you again!
