We had a mixed experience. While some dishes were fantastic, others were mediocre. The staff was rude, groups of older people seemed to get preferential treatment, while younger couples had to wait longer and were in general not treated nicely.
We also were never asked for dessert.

Delicious food. I recommend the ravioli with truffles. Beautiful place, wonderful atmosphere, very nice decor... But dramatic service. Unfriendly, running over tables, looking at plates, rushing. It really spoils the atmosphere that the owner tried to create in this place.

Great food in this beautiful place.
Very good (and very large!) glasses of red wine for €5.
Appetizers:
- Burrata (€12) served with cherry tomatoes and arugula in a huge pizza dough bowl. Incredible, but be careful not to have it on its own, it's super filling. Either share or have just that!
- Octopus (€14) with fava bean purée, excellent
Main Courses:
- Risotto (€15), good
- Lamb en croute (€18), spectacular service because they bring the dish with the crust, and excellent, but be careful, very, very filling

On vacation in Matera we went to Casale recommended by the establishment. After dinner we immediately booked for the following evenings.
The environment is very pleasant and clean.
The service is very organized, efficient and fast, but always very courteous.
The food. In the three evenings we went we tried the whole menu which, rightly, is not very long (but they also make pizzas, which we did not try).
There was nothing on the whole menu that we would not have gladly taken again.
The prices are much more than fair

The dining atmosphere in the cave is wonderful, the spectacular ancient city scenery at the door is very beautiful, the food is delicious and the price is reasonable, the service attitude is professional and friendly, the food is served quickly, and the crowd is very happy, it is worth recommending 👍
