⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Osteria al Casale was the absolute highlight of our time in Matera. Every single dish was outstanding — full of flavor, beautifully presented, and perfectly executed. Fabio made the experience even more special. His wine recommendation was spot on, and in 7 years with my partner, I’ve never seen her completely satisfied with a waiter’s first suggestion… until now. That says it all. Exceptional food, flawless service, unforgettable evening. Highly recommended. 🍷✨

A restaurant carved into the rock, like almost everything in the old part of Matera. Very beautiful and well-appointed. The food was good, although the carpaccio seemed smoky and we liked it less. Sergio was attentive and friendly.

A calm and friendly atmosphere despite the restaurant being full in this Italian osteria. The food is good and very good value for money. The pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven, and the beef fillet with truffle is delicious. I highly recommend it. The only slight downside was the somewhat slow welcome, despite our reservation.

I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, the good food, the good wine, and the attentive service. My compliments!

Excellent cuisine in a characteristic Matera setting

In the heart of the Sassi di Matera, we discovered a simply wonderful place: beautiful, elegant, and with an atmosphere that captivates you from the moment you arrive. We dined on the evening of December 28th, enjoying an excellent pizza, accompanied by cuisine crafted with meticulous attention to detail, a sign of great attention to quality and a passion for good food. The service was impeccable: professional yet warm and authentic, making us feel immediately at home. The value for money is excellent, a rare find in such a charming setting. But what made this evening truly unforgettable were Luciano, Marco, and Fabio: in just a few hours, they transformed from perfect hosts to lifelong friends. Between smiles, stories, and toasts, Basilicata and Calabria had never felt so close that evening. We will definitely return to Matera, even just to visit them. An experience we will cherish forever.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere was refined and welcoming, but what I appreciated most was definitely the service. A young waiter guided us through the wine and dish selections and pampered us throughout the evening. Congratulations!!! The prices are more than fair and consistent with what's on offer.

The owner is a kind and helpful guy, the staff is super kind and courteous, the food is sublime and the location is very beautiful. Prices are normal. I recommend it.
