Really nice place and well trained and friendly waiters. There were 7 of us and everything was delicious from pizza to desserts. We also tried the Pignatta, a delicious dish from Matera. The scialatielli with cardoncelli and crusco peppers are fantastic. Excellent value for money, plentiful dishes, impeccable service and fantastic location. I would go back and recommend it. We came across this restaurant thanks to the advice of the hotel we stayed in in Matera and supported by the good reviews. Our dinner was very varied, we fortunately tasted different courses and I must say that they were all beautifully presented and always prepared with the same dedication. From the appetizers to the first courses up to the pizza and desserts we found a high level of food quality and cuisine. The very fast service and friendly staff, as well as the location which is truly a little jewel. Really excellent value for money!

Recommended by our host, this restaurant was a pleasant discovery among the 1000 culinary offerings in the Sassi di Matera. Among other things, they were very kind and satisfied our request to bring the dinner 1 hour earlier than the initial reservation, even though the restaurant was full. In search of typical Lucanian cuisine we were pleasantly surprised by the perfect mix of tradition and innovation, with dishes with well-defined and perfectly calibrated flavours.

Meraviglioso! ✨ Wonderful meal at this quaint osteria built into one of the hillside caves. Elegant setting, gentle lounge music and excellent service from the whole team, they were all so professional and attentive.
Great menu and wine list with lots of local wines. Being the burrata lover I am had to order the local burrata (fresh and oozy) and was so surprised when it came served inside a focaccia bread bowl, fun!
For mains we chose pasta dishes and they were delicious - nice presentation on a rectangular plate and generous portion 🍝 the truffle ravioli was divine! Good selection of desserts as well, the tiramisu very tasty.
From a Madrid / London POV great value for money for this type of setting and quality of food 👏🏻

We stopped on December 1st on the recommendation of the Thymus residence and were very satisfied with both the excellent quality food and the fairly reasonable price for a dinner in the heart of Sasso Barisano. Excellent and very attentive service. We will undoubtedly return to visit them because they deserve it!

Beautiful place. Reservations are required. There are people here who complain because they couldn't get in and there were free tables. But they are reserved tables. The atmosphere is calm, the music is select, for starters we share a pumpkin risotto with Gorgonzola cream and toasted hazelnuts. Quite a creation. For main courses, the tenderloin with mushrooms was superb and on point. Well, even the lettuce and radiccio with a very good dressing. The king of the night was the lamb rack with potatoes. One of the best I've ever tried. They recommended a red wine and it turned out to be a Cabernet with Merlot. The truth was that it was our fault because we didn't ask about the Varietal and we don't like Cabernet. They immediately told us we could do anything else. We told them what type of wine we wanted and they recommended another one, very tasty, light, with notes of tobacco and that paired perfectly. Tiramisu for dessert with cream frisce and a glass of grappa to finish. We were two people and the bill was €98. Not bad, because in Mexico that dinner would have cost a hundred euros more. They only charged us for the bottle of wine we had. The attention is fast and correct on time. He recommended Osteria David, from our hotel, and I am still grateful. Everything delicious.
