A pleasant surprise. Excellent service, quality food, both cured meats and first courses, as well as the meat. Fine wines, welcoming atmosphere. Congratulations!

The place is simple but tidy and clean. There's not an infinite selection, quite the opposite... but you know: you can't maintain a high level of quality with too many dishes on the menu. Everything is really good, even the wines. In my opinion, the price is reasonable for the quality. Highly recommended.

Such a nice and authentic place. We ate so well, the service was really good and warm, we felt very welcome. The atmosphere is homey and you can also get really good recommandations on local wines. Small detail but kind of important to me, the olive oil was local and really good, I haven't had such good olive oil in a restaurant ever. If you're around after a hike in the region or just passing by, don't hesitate to try it out

Trattoria Sipario

17/08/2025: I dined at this trattoria in August with my family. It's located next to the Ludovico Ariosto Theater, and as soon as you enter, you breathe in the air reminiscent of history and tradition. This same tradition is reflected in the dishes, including strictly handmade pasta and tortelli, and the time-honored flavors of Reggio Emilia's finest culinary specialties, expertly explained by the owner, whose words clearly convey his love and passion for his work. The platter of cured meats, parmesan, and fried gnocco are excellent. The tortelli dish is highly recommended, all accompanied by a fantastic house Lambrusco, and to finish, the zuppa inglese (trifle) and a herb liqueur unlike anything you've found anywhere else. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Reggio Emilia, a truly beautiful city, both for its churches and historic buildings, and for the relaxed atmosphere it exudes.
