Excellent food, from appetizers to first courses, excellent meat dishes, and a wide selection of wines, including the house wine.
Excellent service, right down to the desserts. Highly recommended.
Perugia deserves another visit just to return to this restaurant.

I had dinner with my wife this evening at Cantinone, and I must honestly say that the staff is extremely professional and kind.
The dishes are of high quality and in adequate quantities.
The price is very fair for what we ate.
(In Liguria, we're used to higher prices, and clearly much higher.)
The only thing I sincerely recommend improving is the wine by the glass. An excellent restaurant like Cantinone should offer its customers the option of a good glass of wine.
This evening, the only wine available by the glass was the house wine.
Congratulations, anyway.

Appetizer: pappardelle with wild boar ragu, Norcina lasagna with pecorino cream, sausage, and truffle, veal stew with Perugia beer.

During our trip to Perugia, we chose to have lunch at Ristorante Il Cantinone twice and were truly delighted.
The restaurant is nestled in a wonderful historical setting, in the heart of the medieval center, and the atmosphere, blending stone and ancient architecture, makes the experience even more special.
The cuisine fully respects Umbrian tradition: authentic, flavorful, and well-executed dishes that showcase the local cuisine without distorting it. The service was also friendly and attentive.

The restaurant is quiet and peaceful. The staff is attentive and friendly.
The restaurant's strong point is its traditional Umbrian cuisine. My partner and I were particularly pleased with the potato gnocchi with pork sauce.
The only negative was the price of the platter: instead of a full platter (cheeses, cured meats, and torta al testo - €15), we opted for a cheese-only platter. Despite this, the price remained almost unchanged (€12). This detail aside, it's a worthwhile restaurant.
I would gladly return.

If I could, I'd give 10 stars for the location, soft music, very welcoming. Everyone is very kind, and the food is excellent, highly recommended 😍 typical dishes, absolutely try the potato mille-feuille, delicious!!!
