Nine of us had lunch here. The potato croquettes were cooked on the outside but raw on the inside. The staff was inexperienced. Tiramisu was definitely not recommended (like the gentian one). The pasta was overcooked and the carpaccio was frozen and tasteless.
If you want to eat here, get Montepulciano red wine and really good arrosticini.

Very fast service, helpful and dynamic staff, more than good food quality, honestly a bit steep bill (1 appetizer, 2 first courses, 1 beer and 1 glass of wine more than €70 in total).

Everything was delicious! A fantastic family lunch. We enjoyed a varied selection of appetizers, first courses, and meat-based second courses, prepared with the highest-quality ingredients and meat from select regional farms. Each course stood out for its meticulous presentation and balanced flavors, highlighting the passion and expertise of the kitchen, accompanied by a wide selection of wines. The attention to detail and the exquisite courtesy of the staff, always helpful and professional, were particularly commendable. An excellent gastronomic experience that fully deserves to be recommended—sorry... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Special thanks to Chef Piero and Concezio for the service.

"Il Boscaiolo" in Castel di Sangro is a restaurant that perfectly embodies the atmosphere and flavors of traditional Abruzzo. The restaurant, with its rustic and welcoming atmosphere, makes you feel like you're in a mountain cabin: the wooden furnishings and warm atmosphere create a truly pleasant dining experience. To start, I tried the cazzarelli e fagioli, a dish that didn't disappoint: the homemade pasta was cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with the rich, flavorful bean sauce. A simple dish that captures all the authenticity of local cuisine.
The highlight was the pork shank with potatoes: the meat was incredibly tender, melting in the mouth, and the crust was just the right amount of crunch. The flavorful and well-roasted potatoes were the perfect accompaniment to the shank's flavor. To finish, I opted for a lemon parfait and a portion of dry biscuits, accompanied by an excellent Passito.
Il Boscaiolo is a place I highly recommend to anyone looking for cuisine with the authentic flavors of Abruzzo tradition in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.
