Great food, friendly service, excellent value for money

Rustic restaurant in the center of Caldana. The weekend we were there, they were offering rib-eye steak day. For €28, you got a meat appetizer (cured meats), rib-eye steak, side dish, water, coffee, and ½ liter of house wine. Very good food and friendly staff.

Caldana is a beautiful village. Service was very slow, even just bringing water. The red wine was unpleasant. The wild boar ragù was good. The pici seemed industrial, not handmade. The Maremma tortelli were good, with a very delicate filling. Fresh, hand-rolled pasta was thin. The pici all'aglione were good.

The restaurant is on two levels, and I ate upstairs, where the food is also cooked. Although it's very picturesque, I had trouble cooking the steaks because of the smoke! There are various menus, such as a steak for two for €30.00 per person! I chose the €32.00 menu with crostini, ravioli, very tender meat with caramelized onions, and a dessert of your choice. Everything was delicious and plentiful! The service is very good, and the staff is kind and helpful.
