Small restaurant with great dishes

Locale accogliente immerso nel Borgo Medievale di Barrea, personale giovane e ben disposto ad accontentare le richieste. Menù a mio avviso giusto nella quantità delle portate, con prodotti tipici ed accostamenti ben inseriti. Onestamente nell’antipasto lo avrei fatto più abbondante con salumi e formaggi, mentre il primo “Strozzapreti al Tratturo” li ho trovati scotti, con la salsiccia lessa non ripassata, è troppo pecorino che copre i sapori del piatto. Arrosticini saporiti, non sono di quelli piccoli ma sono quelli tagliati a mano un po’ più grandi e ben cotti. Non mi è piaciuto il piatto su come sono stati serviti, mi sarei aspettato la classica “brocca” di coccio con la carta stagnola anche per mantenerli più caldi. Metto il punteggio 3 per i dettagli in cucina che ho elencato prima.

Special and typical dishes, efficient service, good prices. The only flaw is that the logistics of getting there are inconvenient if you are with elderly people, but in general it is fine.

Very seldom do i rate a business 5 stars but this establishment earned it! A very cozy atmosphere, the picture perfect example of what you would visualize an old Italian village restaurant would be, as well as the greatest cook and server that you could ask for! Very good English and knowledge is the local area, as well as making the most delicious Tira Misu!

Domenica a pranzo con amici, siamo stati benissimo! Location molto bella, tra i vicoli di Barrea, sala piccola ma molto curata ed accogliente. Ambiente caloroso, menu con piatti della tradizione locale: tutto molto buono, e prezzi onesti! Una nota a parte per il tiramisu, unica (piccola) delusione del pranzo. Consigliato, noi ci torneremo!

We had lunch with 5 of us and two large dogs and I was pleasantly surprised by the organization, courtesy and speed with which they served us. Excellent food, good wine and prices I would say were adequate for what we ate. delicious first courses and soups. If I pass through those parts again I will definitely return..
