We stopped for lunch at Borgo Antico during a stop in Villetta Barrea, and it was a wonderful discovery. The cuisine is truly excellent, with generous and flavorful dishes that showcase local products. The appetizers, in particular, are a must-try. A rich and carefully selected selection is worth a stop here alone. The atmosphere is warm, familiar, and welcoming, the restaurant is quaint, and the staff are friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Tucked away in the village of Barrea, this intimate and refined restaurant offers everything from the scomorza (sausage, truffle, and porcini mushrooms) to the white venison ragù. Don't forget the arrosticini (skewers) and the delicious dark chocolate paired with aged spirits. Friendly and helpful service. Perfect.

A nice little restaurant nestled in the alleys of the village of Barrea. It's quite small, with only a few tables. Friendly, courteous service. Tasty dishes. Easy-drinking red wine by the glass. Fairly priced.

A small, quaint restaurant. The lamb and porcini pasta are excellent, and the appetizers are varied and tasty. The only complaint is that the room temperature was a little too low. Reservations are essential for weekends.

27/12/2025: The set menu was excellent and had a wide selection. Everything was delicious, with generous portions. To top it off, one of the best tiramisu I've ever had.
09/12/2025: I went to a restaurant, not a hotel. The restaurant was excellent, the service impeccable, and the food was truly delicious. Yesterday I had the pappardelle with venison ragù, and it was excellent. The wild boar was also excellent, as were the other dishes served by my companions.

11/01/2026: The dishes were truly delicious, especially the arrosticini, which were flavorful and cooked to perfection. The quality of the cuisine is definitely worth a visit. Service, however, was a bit slow, especially during busy periods. Overall, a positive experience, with some room for improvement in the service.
30/12/2025: This historic location has been a favorite for lunches and dinners for many years. A traditional menu expertly presented with courtesy and kindness, the dishes are delicious and plentiful, and the quality/price ratio is absolutely reasonable. Well done!
