A nice little restaurant nestled in the alleys of the village of Barrea. It's quite small, with only a few tables. Friendly, courteous service. Tasty dishes. Easy-drinking red wine by the glass. Fairly priced.

A small, quaint restaurant. The lamb and porcini pasta are excellent, and the appetizers are varied and tasty. The only complaint is that the room temperature was a little too low. Reservations are essential for weekends.

While in Barrea, I discovered this small restaurant in the town center. I had a wonderful time, including the excellent Sciavatelli pasta with venison sauce in white sauce, which was delicious. I highly recommend it.

I ate lunch on a Saturday with a reservation a few days before mid-August (the period before mid-August) along with five other people. The restaurant is typical of an authentic village like Barrea, with the restaurant located up a series of fairly steep stairs (with a handrail). The restaurant is medium-small, with perhaps fewer than 40 seats, both inside and out. The menu is rich in delicious local specialties: cheese and egg balls, sheep's herds, and truly delicious porcini mushrooms. The service was very attentive; I appreciated their willingness to accommodate some of the requests made at the table.
Prices are reasonable.

A traditional trattoria in the historic center of Barrea, an intimate spot with just a few tables and a genuine Abruzzese menu. The cacio e ova (pasta balls) are excellent. Service is fast and friendly. Definitely worth a try.
