A historic pizzeria in Palermo, after many years of going there, I can say that: The quality of the dishes hasn't changed The staff is always kind and friendly The location is a bit dated now, but kept clean and tidy as much as possible The prices are a bit of a sore point, having become too high Years ago, I would have given it 5 stars What a shame!

I've been a customer for years now, and I feel compelled to say a few words of praise for this place. I'd like to say that the pizza is excellent, cooked in a wood-fired oven, which is a plus! You can choose from 3/4 different flours for the dough, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. The service is super attentive, friendly, and accommodating to the customer's needs. Keep it up! 💪🏽❤️

After years, I revisited IL BARO. The pizza was really good and well-seasoned. The menu selection was very varied. The prices were a bit high. The service was excellent.

08/03/2026: Had a lovely birthday meal here - a beautiful upscale setting, a service concept attentive to international guests, a comprehensive Sicily-focused wine list with something for every budget, including a good by-the-glass selection, the Caponata was gorgeous, the Pasta con le Sarde had a beautiful depth though a bit burned when being finished in the oven. A good choice for a special meal.

04/01/2026: A really nice place, on a side street off the main promenade, so it's quiet and atmospheric. The food is very good. One of the nicest restaurants we've been to in Palermo. The service is very friendly and professional. Good wine selection. Everything is fresh and tasty.
