il Barcaiolo In Taormina

Superb!! We had an incredible time at Barcaiolo. The food was absolutely amazing there was not a single thing we could fault. Atmosphere was nice with sea views, the staff were so helpful and patient, friendly and attentive. We ordered for starters the white bait pancakes, oysters and anchovie with cheese bread - wow! The flavours were so perfect it was delicious, if I had to pick my favourite of the starters it would be the white bait pancakes. For mains we ordered the sardine pasta and the pesto prawn pasta both of which were delicious. You can tell everything is homemade and quality ingredients are used. We also ordered a bottle of white wine. Pricing was very fair for the portions and quality of food. Will definitely be back, thank you for having us!

A charming place, but a bit disappointing. The food was good but not amazing, and definitely overpriced. The first courses all started at €25. We ordered a pasta dish with basil pesto, pistachios, and red prawns: not only was it nothing special, but there was only one red prawn, and the others were shrimp (frozen?). The other first course, however, was good, with scampi sauce, cherry tomatoes, and zucchini. Both were €28. I don't think I'd go back.

A mysterious staircase leads you to a place both intimate and magical. A kind, generous, and diverse staff welcomes you and leads you on a unique journey of tastes and sensations. A wonderful surprise. Once you try it, you'll want to try it again right away.

The location is absolutely worth it, but we were disappointed by the seafood linguine. It was absolutely tasteless. It tasted like a simple plate of pasta with seafood thrown on top, rock-hard, rubbery calamari, dried-out mussels, and two or three clams inside. It had an aftertaste of glutamate and onion. For the modest price of €28, it absolutely didn't taste like seafood sauce; you could tell the fish had been cooked separately, dry and tough. Honestly, I've never had worse seafood pasta. I left almost half of it and wasn't even asked why when they took the plates away. Beautiful place, but I'd recommend it only for the view, not the food. The staff was generally friendly and helpful.

Amazing place! In a heavenly corner of Mazzarò, there's this gem where you can enjoy traditional dishes, very well prepared and truly delicious. The service is impeccable, especially the kindness of a lady who told us she's been working there for over 20 years. Specifically, my girlfriend and I ordered: Il Barcaiolo pasta, seared tuna (INCREDIBLE!!!) with onions, linguine allo scoglio, and Mazzara shrimp tartare. It's impossible to visit Taormina without dining here!

We had the most beautiful dinner this week. We were lucky enough to be seated at best table in the house, were spoiled for choice on the menu and only wish we could have stayed longer and eaten more. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Romantic restaurant with beautiful views. We had one of the fish captures of the day and it was pretty expensive for what it was. Plain grilled fish for more than 100 euros. The oysters though were amazing, especially the ones with mandarin sorbet. Some of the best ones we ever had. The local wine was also very nice. Service was alright, but we felt a bit ignored; we could also see that the other tables had complementary bread and breadsticks, but we did not receive that. Overall not the greatest dinner.

Authentic, excellent cuisine, lovely atmosphere, excellent value for money, friendly and attentive service, and the food is of outstanding quality! If I had 6 stars, I would give it that.
