We had dinner at Bacaro in Lecce and the experience was overall positive, hence the 4 stars.
To start, we opted for a platter of mixed cold cuts and cheeses and some fried foods, both appreciated and tasty, perfect for whetting the appetite. The highlight of the evening was the El Maximo, a Tagliata di Filletto di Manzo di Rubia Gallega served with parmesan flakes, cherry tomatoes and rocket. The meat was excellent, tender and cooked to perfection, a real pleasure for the palate.
The service was attentive and the atmosphere of the place pleasant (even if there was little air circulation and we felt a bit hot).
All in all, the quality of the food is undoubtedly high. However, I must point out a couple of aspects that did not convince me entirely. First of all, I found the prices a bit high compared to average. Secondly, a small critical note goes to the menu layout, which I found a bit messy and with some small grammatical errors here and there, a detail that clashes a bit with the general care of the place and the dishes.
Despite these small flaws, the goodness of the cuisine amply justifies a positive evaluation and I would definitely recommend Bacaro to those looking for quality meat dishes in Lecce.

Positive experience.
The welcoming environment and pleasant atmosphere made the evening pleasant.
The staff proved to be friendly and attentive, helping to create a hospitable atmosphere. Sufficient starter, first course of excellent quality and flavour.
A place that is definitely worth a visit for those looking for good food and top-notch service.

Amazingly popular shop just outside of downtown Lecce. Reservation is absolutely necessary, otherwise you end up on the outside terrace or in the "aquarium" - that can get a bit cool in the evenings in spring.
Overall, we enjoyed the food, but there was nothing outstanding. We had already tested seven to eight other restaurants during the week that delivered significantly better food. Maybe that's why we were a bit spoiled. The pasta was really good, but you kind of expect that in an Italian restaurant.
The service can best be described as friendly and attentive, but rather semi-professional.
So if you're nearby, you can go there. I don't think it's worth going extra.

Excellent food. We had some patanegra and a focaccia with turnips and buffalo mozzarella as an appetizer. Followed by ravioli with porcini mushrooms and sausage and patanegra and a beef fillet.
Service not very attentive though. I recommend noting if there are any intolerances at the table: a bread with lactose was brought along with the patanegra and if I hadn't asked insistently I could have had problems.
Nice place, warm and welcoming.
Waiters too busy and agitated and not very attentive (you should approach the tables a few more times).
It's a shame about the bathrooms, which are cold and unwelcoming and clash with the rest of the place.
€95 for two with a bottle of water and a glass of wine.
Worth a visit, the menu is particular, I saw other dishes at other very inviting tables!

In August 2024 we returned for the third time, enthusiastically bringing a couple of friends to let them try the linguine with sea urchins that was the best ever for us. Unfortunately we were really disappointed and also very sorry for the change in recipe (?). Much less tasty dish and different from what we tried in other years. On the other hand we had the pleasure of trying the very abundant and excellent starters, the dessert was also good. However, it is sad to go to a specific place for a dish and be disappointed by it. I hope this comment can serve as constructive criticism to restore the best dish I have ever eaten!

A Lecce per lavoro, ho consumato in questo simpatico ristorante un'ottima cena di terra e mare.
Antipasto di terra con tartare di manzo squisita e molto ben presentata.
Ho proseguito e terminato con una splendida tagliata di tonno scottato alla perfezione.
Mezza bottiglia di trimari rosato a perfetta temperatura.
Servizio solerte e cortese.
Conto correttissimo.
Vivamente consigliato.
