I Pupi In Bagheria

Excellent food, poor and condescending service. Pro: excellent presentation and most of the dishes were very good. The chef knows what he’s doing and probably has a good team in the kitchen. Con: waitress was not impressed with us, a family of five with three quiet teens/pre-teens, perhaps as we only took the five course tasting menu. Sommelier paired the tasting menu with a glass without telling us one thing about the wine nor asking for our preferences. We had an ant in one of the kids dishes, instead of simply apologizing and replacing, waitress grumbled that she didn’t see anything and took it away, though it was replaced. They brought out the desserts, one short (4 instead of 5), so my wife didn’t have one of the desserts, they didn’t bring the 5th one out. Feels like the service thinks treating customers badly gets them points. Instead, they just look like fools.

an incredible experience! The trip to the States with wine and food tastings was truly exciting. The flavors and atmospheres that I experienced certainly left an indelible mark on me. What were the dishes and wines that impressed me the most? The sea urchin, extraordinary!!! I highly recommend, I would give it 2 stars ⭐️ ⭐️

I had the pleasure of having dinner for my birthday at I Pupi, well what can I say? Excellent culinary experience, impeccable service, never intrusive, pleasant atmosphere. When I go to starred restaurants I always try the 10 courses as the first time and I must say that this was the only time I was satisfied with all 10 dishes, beyond my expectations, the love and passion that the chef has in cooking every single dish and making it unique comes straight to the palate.. congratulations and we will return to taste other "works of art" because that's what they are unfortunately I didn't take photos of all the dishes but I'll share some ....

Excellent from every point of view. And every time there are delicious new things on the menu. The best place to eat in the province of Palermo. Try it to believe it!

Food was super creative, unconventional without being absurd. We ordered individual dishes rather than the tasting menu. The risotto and anchovy ravioli were two standout dishes, but everything was delicious. They supplement the main courses with small interludes of tasty bites. Even though the ordered portions are small, enough gets brought to the table to make it a very fulfilling meal. Service was immaculate, attentive and professional without being intrusive. Prices are fair considering the quality and originality. The place is tucked into an unexpected neighborhood and Google Maps may send you the long way around to get there, but we were happy we went.

Don't be fooled by my 4 stars. They are 4 only because 5 for me equals perfection. The place is very beautiful, although I found the bathroom a bit neglected. The service was impeccable. The dishes, needless to say, were sublime. Too bad there wasn't any that particularly struck me. I didn't have the wow effect I was hoping for, but I undoubtedly had a pleasant experience. They also recommended an excellent wine that paired well with the dishes we chose.

Every year the stop at the Pupi is a tradition. Sophisticated and delicious food, attentive but not intrusive service. Absolutely worth trying.

Abbiamo cenato un questo ristorante 1 stella a Bagheria e siamo rimasti davvero sorpresi e soddisfatti sia del servizio e soprattutto del menu degustazione. Tutto nella perfezione con portate piene di sapori e gusti incredibilmente decisi e materie prime e aromi di gusti straordinari....è stato un crescendo dall'inizio alla fine del percorso senza mai una sbavatura . Ristorante i Pupi... Recensione un pò complessa, in quanto lo chef Tony Lo Cono oltre ad avere una buona cucina è una persona veramente cortese, alla mano e conviviale. Premesso quindi che il cibo è stato gradito, abbiamo provato la degustazione da 7 portate che tra piatti più incisivi e piatti più comuni, bene o male ha soddisfatto i nostri palati...purtroppo però, ci sono alcune situazioni che sinceramente da un ristorante non ti aspetti e a maggior ragione da uno stellato non sono giustificabili e che avrebbero potuto creare problematiche qualora non fossero state chiarite prima di arrivare. Premetto anche che eravamo 10 persone e che ci siamo fatti ben 300km di strada. Chiamiamo per prenotare e ci danno disponibilità di venerdì visto il numero di commensali. Il giovedì mi chiama un amico e mi dice se avevo prenotato all'esterno, in quanto aveva visto una foto su internet, gli risposi...non credo, avrebbero dovuto dirmelo in fase di prenotazione, come del resto fa qualsiasi ristorante se dispone di due zone non omogenee. Chiamiamo e ci riferiscono che il tavolo era stato predisposto per la zona esterna, che sinceramente dalle foto non era di nostro gradimento e che comunque da quello che si vedeva era coperta da una tenda, con delle chiusure perimetrali parziali e riscaldata con delle stufe a fiamma. La sig.ra ci garantisce che non ci sarebbe stata nessuna differenza di temperatura, ma decidiamo di disdire il tavolo. Ci ricontattano e ci garantiscono il tavolo all'interno. Per cortesia abbiamo accettato, ma sinceramente è stata un'operazione poco trasparente e sopratutto, non è giustificabile che in fase di prenotazione non ci sia stato comunicato la scelta di metterci fuori, anche perché la temperatura (prova fatta da tutto il gruppo) non era assolutamente omogenea e come detto prima, avremmo avuto qualche problema a sederci qualora non fossimo stati a conoscenza. La sala interna carina, ma nulla di particolare, troppo vicina alla cucina, infatti si sentivano rumore di piatti, le voci degli addetti ai lavori...quindi l'ambiente non era proprio rilassante, molto bello invece il tavolo imperiale che ci hanno composto. Altra nota non positiva è stata quella della carta dei vini, abbiamo preso 3 bottiglie diverse in quanto sceglievamo il vino, la portavano al tavolo, l'aprivano e solo dopo ci comunicavano che era l'ultima bottiglia e questo è successo ben 3 volte...credo che sarebbe stato più corretto dircelo prima di portarla al tavolo. Servizio molto cordiale ma a nostro modesto avviso non adeguato al tipo di locale. Che dire...mi dispiace recensire così un locale, ma ci sono state troppe disattenzioni, che non avrei giustificato neanche da un ristorante non blasonato...ma da uno stellato sinceramente non è plausibile. Ci hanno comunicato che cambieranno location...sicuramente sarà un passo decisivo è molto gradito dai vari futuri clienti. Alla prossima!!!
