Everything we had was delicious and it was a fantastic dinner. My husband, who had been looking forward to trying this bistecca during our trip to Italy, seemed very satisfied. The two of us finished the entire 1.3kg bistecca. The staff were all friendly and provided efficient service. We also called several times but were unable to get through so we went without making a reservation, but they fill up quickly after opening, so if you don't have a reservation, it's essential to arrive before opening. If we ever get the chance to return to Florence, we'll definitely want to visit again!

Typical restaurant away from the chaos of the center with traditional Florentine food. Friendly and extremely cordial staff, excellent, fresh and homely food. Pappardelle with rabbit sauce 🔝. Spectacular meat!

Extremely satisfied with this dinner! A friendly and easy-going place where you can feel at home. Very good food from the starters, to the meat, to the side dishes. Generous portions, honest prices and attentive staff. We had: a dish of the day (pappardelle with rabbit ragù), 1kg of Florentine steak, a portion of fried courgette flowers, beans all'uccelletto, two glasses of Chianti and two amari. Total bill €80. Far from the usual tourist routes and the crowded streets of the centre but definitely worth a visit.

Ristorante di cucina tipica toscana,poco turistico ma frequentato da gente del posto,personale super gentile,disponibile. Tutto buonissimo dall’antipasto al dolce,assolutamente consigliato

Se siete dalle parti della cappella Brancacci, dovete assolutamente andarci. Trattoria fiorentina dove mangia la gente del posto e quindi segno di autenticità e garanzia. Primi molto buoni così come la carne. Accoglienza super. Consigliatissimo, infatti ci ritornerei volentieri.

03/06/2025: We just enjoyed the most wonderful evening here! One of us is gluten free. We have been in Italy for 5 days and all the staff at Ristorante Hostaria Il Desco were the warmest, friendliest and most attentive we’ve experienced. The food was delicious! My husband who is not gluten free enjoyed the GF pasta with me as our primi and said he would not have known it wasn’t traditional pasta. The grilled steak, per our server’s suggestion, was fabulous! And the suggested house wine pairings were also delicious. I don’t write reviews normally but I was so touched by the hospitality here and to be so well treated as a gluten free diner is just so unique. All praise ! Grazie Mille!

28/04/2025: Honestly some of the best pasta I’ve had in Italy, truly worth the detour. Amazing selection of wines, including natural wines and orange wines. Very friendly service.
