Hotel Scapolatiello In Vietri sul mare

Very friendly and helpful staff, entrance difficult to access by car due to a very narrow passage between the houses (but there is a large closed parking lot 150 meters away)

We spent Christmas with our 5-year old in this great little hotel hidden away from the busy town centre of Cava de Tirreni. The room isn't full luxury, a little dated, but it has a lot of personalities. The views from the hotel are stuning. Staff members are super nice and very accommodating, nothing seem a bother. Located behind it is a rather big (late 1300s) cathedral - Territorial Abbey of La Trinità della Cava. This is a "must-see" if you stay at the hotel. I was blown away by the interior of the church as it didn't seem to be much from the outside. It's a lot (a LOT) bigger on the inside. There are guide tours available at price of 3€ to see more than just a main church. One thing to note is that, in case you decided to drive, it's quite a challenging journey. The road is small and windy, loads of blind corners, unless you're familiar with all the streets, or a seasoned Italian driver, I'd recommend to avoid it. There is a local bus (No. 61) that will take you from the hotel to Cava town centre. We had to organise daily taxi pick-up and drop-off from/to the hotel due to Christmas period. But was easy enough to do via WhatsApp messages. You may also want to do a day trip in Pompei while youre here. It's easy to get to by train from the Cava station. And Salerno is only 2 stops away the other direction.

The place is very interesting and the structure is also wonderful.

The room was cozy and fairly clean, but the bathroom was tiny, with no bidet, a very narrow shower, and a very small sink. The staff was kind and friendly, and breakfast was nothing special. The hotel is located in the upper part of Cava, and we had a hard time finding it due to the lack of signage and the streets being very narrow.

Crazy hotel, kinda like the castle on the hill. Very nice, tidy and warm rooms, nice bathroom. Hotel is a very pleasant place to stay and relax sitting in the lobby with piano. Tasteful breakfast and very good staff, receptionist and everyone I met during my stay. Place to recommend and I hope I'll be back again.

We celebrated my mother's birthday here, and the staff was very kind and attentive to our requests. Everyone complimented the quality and flavor of the lunch, and the price was fair for what was on offer. We were very satisfied and will recommend it to others for private events.

If your idea of a perfect getaway is staying on top of a mountain with a private room and jacuzzi, this is *definitely* the place for you. The views are breathtaking at night, the sky sparkles with stars, and the sunrise as you drive down the mountains feels absolutely magical. It’s conveniently accessible from the Amalfi Coast, and you can easily get here with a small or mid-sized car. The rooms are spotless, cozy, and well-kept, and the hospitality is truly exceptionally warm, welcoming, and attentive in every way. A peaceful mountain retreat that feels like a dream come true.

Great hospitality. Clean and quiet place with friendly ambience. Very nice green grounds, swimming pool, parking, breakfast, restaurant and lovely service. Fresh air and amazing views.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel and its restaurant. The entire place was spotless, and the staff were consistently warm and welcoming. The restaurant itself was a highlight - not only was the food excellent, but the wine list was thoughtfully curated and offered great pairings. Special shoutout to Adel, who truly elevated our visit. His service was exceptional - attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. Adel made us feel like honored guests, and his presence alone is reason enough to return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, quality dining, and outstanding hospitality. That said, I would only return just to have their dessert - the "ricotta e pera". Absolutely divine.
