Delicious pasta. We ordered the tagliatelle al ragu and the tortellini with parmesan and by God they were good, delicious. No other pasta except in Italy tastes the same. The service very good.

Typical Bolognese tavern with enough seats, also suitable for small groups. Service a little slow but the menu is decent and the prices below average

I worked there for a few months, so I might be biased, but for me San Carlino remains one of the best restaurants in all of Bologna (and the fact that I experienced it from the inside, from the dining room to the kitchen, can only confirm this). Amazing cuisine, recommended for taking someone to dinner and making an excellent impression hands down!! Absolutely worth tasting: tortellini, L o crema, balanzoni, cheek with sangiovese, tenerina with mascarpone.

I discovered this place by chance yesterday after an urban trek with a friend. Before entering, we were attracted by the menu which included typical dishes of the region. The place is very nice, suggestive. We were served by a young waiter, Lorenzo, friendly and polite. Shortly after ordering, the food arrived. We had the tigelle and mortadella as an appetizer (DIVINE!) and balanzoni with green sauce and tortelloni with cream cheese (EXQUISITE!). Then dessert and coffee. All washed down with a good local red. The price is average and worth it all. Surely, when I return to Bologna, I will return!!

3 unforgettable dinners in this small and friendly restaurant. Wonderful food, incredible service, the best rock soundtrack. Always order the melanzana a parmegiama and fiori de zucca as antipasti, perfect! Primo tortellini and secondo cutlet 👏🙌

Located in a quiet, silent street not far from the Central Station and the historic center of Bologna, the restaurant has approximately 30 seats (perhaps less). Upon entering, on the left there is a small English pub style counter (with the glasses hanging downwards) in front of the counter there are some tables while on the right just near the entrance there is a small room with about 10-15 seats whose walls are entirely covered with chestnut-coloured wooden panels. Starters, between €5 and €10, include scottona tartare with mango and avocado, plates of cured meats and mortadella. A plate of dried sausage with pecorino and chicory in a sweet and sour sauce is notable for the quality of the ingredients. The first courses, between €10 and €13, in addition to an onion soup with crunchy parmesan, include not only the traditional pastas (tagliatelle, tortellini strozzapreti and passatelli) but also the typical balanzoni proposed here in a green sauce with a well-thickened parmesan filling that is pleasant to the bite. Furthermore, continuing with the sweet and sour flavors (also present in the second courses), green tagliatelle with orange and ham and tortellini with artichokes and lemon are offered. Among the second courses (from 12 to 16 €) the sweet and sour triumphs with a cube of cod with grains of pistachios, rocket and tomatoes, spicy tripe with tomato with croutons, parmesan and mint, a pork cheek in plum sauce, a pork shank in beer and apples (also popular in Brussels cuisine) as well as cutlet and game, including an excellent Mediterranean rabbit with potatoes oven. The desserts (around €5) in addition to the classic tenerina cake with chocolate and mascarpone offer shortcrust pastry ravioli with passito wine and a semifreddo with passion fruit reduction with a wonderfully intense flavour. The wine list is varied and well-constructed with Emilian and Italian proposals whose prices are truly honest. The service is excellent (worthy of more high-class restaurants). Considering that all the flavours, which I tasted, are excellently defined and assorted with each other and the quality/price ratio is also excellent, the restaurant richly deserves its 5 stars.

Quando passo da Bologna vengo volentieri presso questa osteria dall'aria familiare e dal buon cibo. Si conferma sempre nel tempo per l'ottima qualità. Squisita la tagliata e gli immancabili tortellini. Dolci squisiti: consiglio le raviole accompagnate dal vino passito. Top.

Il posto è accogliente e il cameriere che ci ha servito gentile e sollecito.Tutto molto buono. Abbiamo mangiato tigelle con il pesto modenese,uno sformatino di zucca con il gorgonzola,salame rosa e giardiniera,cotoletta alla bolognese,guancia brasata al Sangiovese,patate al forno e ravioli ripieni di marmellata con vino Passito.Conto adeguato alla qualità di quanto offerto. Ci tornerei per provare anche i primi.
