So here the review is tough. Let's start with the owner, Mrs. Ada is in all respects the owner of the place.. in every sense. In the tavern there is only her who does everything: cooks and serves at the tables. The place is very small and the atmosphere is very, very homely and informal. At the same time it is also hilarious, based on the old customs of the past, where everyone talks and laughs together, in fact it can happen to know the diners during dinner. Obviously it is Ada who decides what to make you eat, consider the written menus as a beauty or decoration of the place. What is certain is that whatever she will offer you will have been made by her and I assure you that Ada is an excellent cook capable of representing the traditional Emilian cuisine at its best. If this were not enough, the lady shows strong theatrical skills that make her able to entertain the guests with real performances based on joviality and irreverence that, at times, seem to border on rudeness but I assure you that in her heart they never are. So if you know how to take her and if you know how to adapt, laughter is guaranteed, also because she is good at involving all the guests a bit who, by conformity of the place, are never more than fifteen to exaggerate, and finding themselves physically seated close together it happens that they start talking and joking among themselves. Then a lot depends on whether you find her having a good evening or not. Now, having made these necessary premises, there is no point in going if you expect a radical chic, silent and elegant place. The spirit of the place is not this, Ada does not change and will never change. Take it or leave it. Of course, as mentioned above, if Ada is having her day the evening will certainly be unforgettable but, if she is not, well it will still be... unforgettable... the choice is yours.

We went to Hostaria La Frasca for lunch by chance. When we walked in we saw that this was a great place to have lunch. The manager, Ada, is a very friendly person and she is the one who prepares everything, you eat what she makes that day, there is no menu. We loved the food and Ada's friendliness. We ate ravioli and pork cheeks. At the end she offered us the coffee nearby, there is no coffee at the Hostaria. A fantastic experience, thank you Ada.

Finally a typical restaurant! Exceptional food, the owner immerses you in a Modena atmosphere with her presence, her dishes and her place. Super recommended also for the experience

10/10 experience. Me and my friends stumbled upon this place looking for a nice restaurant and were a bit hesitant at first. The host welcomed us kindly and we were the only people in the restaurant. After telling her one of us doesn't eat meat she opted to give us a few classic Modena dishes, both veggie and meat. Incredible food, wonderful atmosphere and the kindest host we had all ever had. After we had already left the restaurant and she closed the restaurant the host showed us a beautiful +200 (?) year old tree around the corner, hidden between buildings. What a magical experience, we'll definitely visit again. Can't stress enough how great this was. Love from the Netherlands ♡

The impression is that he charges you the same no matter what you order (a second between three and without dessert) and that he gives you what suits him (the pasta was frankly soggy). Great experience but I don't know if we will return,

Excellent value for money, you eat a lot and really well! There is no menu to demonstrate the quality of the dishes and the freshness of the ingredients used (the owner is however very willing to accommodate any request for intolerance or food preferences). But in addition to the food, the real specialty of this place is the atmosphere you can breathe. Ada (the owner) takes care of everything 360 degrees: she serves, welcomes, cooks and entertains.

The food is tasty and of high quality, the atmosphere is specific, for our own people, but the main surprise was waiting at the time of payment - for one dish of pasta, one second and wine, the hostess asked for 60 euros. I don’t know what it was and why the prices at the door were completely different, but it really upset me. I don't recommend it.
