A Hidden Gem in Florence We had an amazing dinner at Hostaria Il Desco. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared, perfectly paired with a great selection of wines. The interior is warm and charming, with rustic details that create a cozy, authentic Florentine atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Truly a hidden gem — highly recommended!

We had a fantastic dinner here for my birthday. The service was outstanding and the food was creative and delicious. The restaurant is also very nice and cozy.

Excellent food and careful attention to allergies and intolerances. A separate gluten-free menu is available, and the staff is knowledgeable and ready to explain how contamination is managed. We ordered appetizers, first courses, second courses, and desserts without spending a fortune.

The food and service were above and beyond.

They have a whole menu of gluten-free food. I was pleasantly surprised! Everything was delicious.

The restaurant was recommended to us and it did not disappoint. My personal favorite was the caprese with burrata and truffle. The only small downside was that the staff was not as friendly as you would expect it in a restaurant like that.

Wonderful dinner, the place is very, very beautiful and welcoming, as a celiac I had a special gluten-free menu, the food was delicious and of the highest quality, the spaghetti alla chitarra with burrata, pistachios and shrimp tartare is something out of this world🫶🏻

We visited early in the day around 1pm and we were the only ones there. The waiter was nice and spoke English to us without making it feel like an inconvenience. He was so nice and interacted with our two young children. Every thing we ordered was delicious! I'm gluten free but my family is not. Having a separate gluten free menu with so much to offer was a delight and weight off my shoulders. Highly recommend!

This has become my favorite place. The place is elegant, intimate, and welcoming. The staff is helpful and friendly. The food is excellent, delicious. My favorite dishes are the cheese and truffle crostini and the fillet steak. But I've also tried various first courses and appetizers, and none have ever disappointed me. I always gladly return whenever I can. ❤️ PS: An extra point for the excellent background music (usually romantic Italian classical music). See you next time!

Wow! Wow! Wow! I have had some of the "best" steaks this planet supposedly has to offer and what I had at this restaurant, the classic bone in Florentine Steak at 1.7kg, was hands down, the best steak I have had in my life. In fact, we went to another restaurant that is extremely well known for its steak in Florence by Michelin and Ristorante Hostaria Il Desco was leagues above the other competitor at a slightly better price. Not to mention, the service and atmosphere at this location was also leagues better. This truly was a miraculous culinary experience I did not know existed. I would recommend anyone that loves steak make a trip to Italy just to experience the lovely experience we had when visiting this restaurant. Thank you and please don't change so next time it is just as phenomenal.
