Gusto Gourmet store In Siracusa

In July 2025, visiting Syracuse we came across this new concept food store and decided to have a quick lunch! Upon leaving we were so happy we had found this store. We had a light but good lunch with a delicious red Sicilian wine. After lunch we did some shopping in the the very attractive, nicely arranged and very clean store full of Sicilian products. We eventually also bought 5 bottles of the wine we had at lunch. If you want a break during your Syracuse visit we highly recommend to take your break in the Gusto shop.

We buy 3 peaches, we understand that we can't touch the fruit ourselves to know if it's ripe, that's okay, I understand. But in this case, the seller can do it with his gloves on. Instead, he takes the first 3 fruits that come to hand... Without asking if it's to eat today or in a few days. 3 fruits, he can guess that it's to eat now and not give us rock-hard fruits that will ripen in a week 🫩

La tienda estaba limpia y ordenada. Todas las frutas y verduras eran muy atractivos, dispuestos para atraer a comprar, y lo hicimos. Durante cuatro días volvimos dos veces para comprar mucho más de lo que planeamos. El personal era muy amable y servicial, explicando muy claramente ya que mi italiano no cubrió todas mis preguntas. El mostrador de quesos estaba lleno de productos gloriosos elegí un queso siciliano con pistachos, nunca antes había visto esto pero fue fantástico. Todas las frutas y verduras eran de una calidad fantástica y el sabor, tal como habían sido recogidos. La tarta de fruta casera fue otra compra no planificada, de nuevo de la mejor calidad. Si estás en Siracusa, es una tienda para visitar, los precios no eran caros, pero la calidad era de primera clase.

A place I have been frequenting for years now. Very kind staff. When you enter you feel at home. Very high level of products and great variety of meats, cured meats, cheeses and wines. Excellent gastronomy. What could I do without you!

Its a bit of a maze, but the staff are ever so helpful. The cheese is marvelous. The produce looks fantastic and I look forward to trying it. The layout of dried goods is attractive and easy to see. The gluten free rice-based biscuits I got were dreadful - stale and smelling & tasting mostly of preservative. Really unfortunate. I got 2 different kinds of gf pasta which I'll try later. It's good that Italy has gf options, but they've been commodified to the point where it's hard to find *good* gf options. I absolutely expected top-shelf products at this store and I hope the pasta rates a lot better than those biscuits.
